Natyaloka School of Indian Dance presents Nātya on September 9th. This will be Natyaloka's 10th and final dance production in our wonderful Ōtepoti. Please come ❤️

Natyaloka is a Dunedin based dance school for Indian dance forms Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Founded by Swaroopa Unni who was trained in these dance forms for more than 15 years in Kerala, India under Smt Kalamandalam Saraswathy, Sri Srikant and Smt Aswathy Srikant, she has recreated the lesson plans keeping the culturally vibrant Dunedin in mind. Swaroopa has performed at several stages across India as part of Nrityalaya School of Classical Dance (Calicut), and Abhinava Dance Company (Guru Nirupama & Rajendra, Bangalore). She has also won several awards at the State and University levels.

In Dunedin, Swaroopa has been performing and taking workshops under the banner of Natyaloka apart from running her dance classes. For more details contact Swaroopa Unni at [email protected].

We have the wonderful Tahu Mackenzie MC’ing our showcase, as well as a fantastic line up featuring dance performances from Bennett School of Ballet & Jazz, Natyaloka School of Indian Classical Dance, Otago Dancers, Pine Hill Liberton F Team, RASA School of Dance, He Waka Kōtuia, plus singing acts from our very own Jeila Morrison, Maya Satake, Monet Morrison and their talented teacher Hayley Lyndom ✨

Delicious food & hot chocolate will be available to purchase, as well as some super exciting raffles on offer 🎟️
