The customer experience is key to the values o
f the Aotearoa DJ Academy, all equipment and music will be supplied, Students just bring themselves. All workstations look and feel professional, all fully flight cased using Pioneer mixers, Technics Turntable, Serato Scratch Live & Apple Mac Laptops. Booklets with all the lesson goals and information will be theirs to keep and all students will have a opportunity to perform in front of class at the end of course to show off their new found skills. Classes are small, 6 student maximum for each course insuring they maximize their learning experience

Ian Seumanu aka DJ Raw
With almost 25 year in the music entertainment industry DJ Raw has experienced virtually every situation a DJ could possibly find themselves in from DJing primary school disco’s to weddings to DJing the closing ceremony of the NZ Rugby Sevens surrounded by 180 dancers in front of 38,000 you name it he’s done it. Raw has a long list of awards and tittles to his name including New Zealand & Australasian ITF Champion, 2x NZ DMC Champion and an APRA best song award for his music producing
Now a full time DJ tutor for the past 7 year, Raw has passed on his skills and knowledge to hundreds of young up and coming DJs
Shannon Chng Rawiri aka DJ Shan
With over 15 years of spinning behind him DJ Shan has become one of, if not the biggest name DJ in the Wellington club scene. Not only known for his party rocking set but he has now become an accomplished MC and night life personality. Shan has been responsible for taking the Wellington night life to new levels with the promotion of his Super Club multi genre dance parties assembling the best of the best in wellington and around the country under one roof. In 2003 Shan along with DJ Raw and George Packard together wrote the curriculum for what would turn into New Zealand’s first ever NZQA approved DJ School at Whitireia Polytechnic where he continues to tutor 10 years on.
