April 26 is 'Hug a Friend Day'. It is a reminder of celebrating the important friendships that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

Also, numerous studies show that hugging has many health benefits such as reducing stress and fear, boosting the heart health, it reduces pain, among others.

Recently, we have been hearing news about su***de cases among youths circulating in social media. We understand that we all go through battles that are different and unknown to other people. But if you feel you are unable to cope, it is a wise decision to seek for professional help. The Guidance Office wants everyone to know that we are willing to assist you in this phase of life. It is open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, from Monday to Thursday and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM every Friday to accomodate your needs. Please know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE, WE ARE READY TO LISTEN, and WE EXIST TO HELP YOU HEAL and OVERCOME.

AN APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC

The Baguio Mental Health Council would like to appeal to the public to be responsible in sharing videos and pictures of attempted su***de through social media.

There are prescribed World Health Organization guidelines in reporting such unfortunate incidents. Irresponsible sharing of su***de videos can be triggering to other people. Let us help keep our community healthy.

Self-harm or su***de attempts are a cry for help. Help us save lives by referring people who need help to these hotlines:
