🌱🎓 Take your expertise further through the SEARCA Graduate Scholarships 2027–2028!

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is pleased to inform interested parties of the call for applications for the Master’s and Doctoral Scholarships in Agriculture and Related Fields for School Year 2027–2028 offered by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).

The scholarship program is open to qualified Filipino nationals who are 40 years old or below for the Master’s program and 45 years old or below for the Doctoral program at the time of application. Proposed thesis or dissertation topics should align with SEARCA’s mandate of advancing agricultural and rural development in Southeast Asia.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 | 𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗞 (𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗡) 🐔🌱

The Bisayang Manok (Gallus gallus domesticus), also known as the Philippine Native Chicken, represents one of the country’s valuable indigenous poultry resources known for its adaptability, resilience, and contribution to sustainable food production.

This feature highlights Marvin Louis Vicente, a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (BSAB) student of Balingoan College, who is among the dedicated students responsible for the daily care and management of the College’s poultry. Through regular feeding, monitoring of growth and health, and maintaining proper poultry care practices, Marvin demonstrates the importance of responsibility, animal welfare, and hands-on learning in agribusiness education.

The daily management of the BSAB Poultry provides students with practical experience in sustainable livestock production, strengthening their knowledge and skills as future agribusiness professionals and agricultural entrepreneurs.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger through sustainable food production, SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential and skills-based learning, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by developing future-ready agricultural professionals, and SDG 15: Life on Land through the responsible management and conservation of indigenous poultry resources.

EARTHQUAKE DRILL 2026 | BE READY, STAY SAFE!

Balingoan College will conduct an Earthquake Drill on September 10, 2026 (Thursday), at exactly 2:00 PM as part of our continuing efforts to strengthen earthquake preparedness and promote a safe school environment.

Date: September 10, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM
Venue: Balingoan College

All students, faculty members, and staff are encouraged to actively participate and take the drill seriously. This activity will help everyone practice the proper response during an earthquake and become more prepared for possible emergencies.

REMEMBER: DUCK, COVER, AND HOLD!

During the drill:
DUCK — Get down low to protect yourself from falling objects.
COVER — Take cover under a sturdy desk or table and protect your head and neck.
HOLD — Hold on to your shelter until the shaking stops.

After the shaking, remain calm, follow the instructions of the designated safety personnel, and proceed carefully to the designated evacuation area/assembly point.
