So much can only be encapsulated in one year. The formed memories and shared experiences of the Vals Maharlika can attest to that. As one year passes, courage, strength, and the fortified bond as a unit remain.

In vigilant regard, affable character, and liberal perspective do we continue to carry out the duties and responsibilities called for us as soldiers of the VSULHS CAT-1 Unit.

VSU Laboratory High School’s Citizen Army Training CL 2024-2025 Closing Ceremony and Graduation to commence at 3PM today at VSU Lower Campus

The VSUIHS CAT-1 Unit batch 2024-2025, Vals Maharlika, together with their cadets and cadettes cordially invite you to bear witness to their closing ceremony at 1500H on April 3rd at the VSU Lower Oval Grounds, Visca, Baybay City, Leyte.

The battalion corps, led by C/COL GARL REIVANEHL P GARCIA, accompanied by his staff, are to execute a sharp graduation performance after much labor, making this closing ceremony a highlight for the year.

This momentous occasion marks the legacy of the long-established training program, as well as acknowledges its last enduring batch, Vals Maharlika.

Join us in rejoicing for the success of the VSUIHS CAT-1 Unit. In wholly support for all who contributed to the training program's progression, let us recognize the spirit of unity, discipline, and patriotism.

The VSUIHS cadets and cadettes of the CAT-1 Unit successfully conducted their first whole-day practice for the upcoming CAT Graduation at the VSU Lower Grounds, March 31.

Following the weekly flag ceremony at the VSU Amphitheater, officers and cadets converged at the lower grounds. In preparation for the formation, an attendance checking and rank inspection occurred by platoon.

Thereafter, each platoon practiced the rifle drills individually and executed their respective movements for the Pass-in-Review sequence. This continued for 30 minutes as the first final polishing of movements prior to the practice proper.

The practice commenced at 0830H until 1100H for the morning segment. Mess hour was ordered and after that, the afternoon segment commenced at 1300H and finished at 1700H.

A box formation followed where announcements were given by Commandant, 2LT NICKO MAMOY APOSTOL. Assistant Commandant, PVT JOVIE MARIEL DEGORIO and SGT NORMAN BALURAN were also in attendance.

Another whole-day practice is in order on April 2, the day before the CAT Graduation.

The VSULHS CAT-1 Unit officers and cadets successfully conducted their last Friday formation on March 21, 2025, at the VSU Lower Oval Grounds.

Cadets and cadettes were called to the grounds at 1500H. Soon after, attendance and inspection were done by the officers per platoon.

The platoons gathered in a file formation and executed various drills to refine their rifle movements, perfect the Graduation "Pasa Masid" sequence, and practice the proper procedure for receiving their certificates. These activities occupied the entirety of the formation.

The formation concluded with COMMANDANT 2LT NICKO APOSTOL commending the officers and cadets for their discipline, dedication, and exceptional efforts throughout the training period. His words served as a source of motivation and pride for everyone present, bringing the day's activities to a positive close.

This marked the final Friday formation before the CAT Graduation on April 3, 2025. 🫡
