𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘: Alternative Work and Class Arrangement for June 2026

In continued support of the national government’s efforts to reduce electricity consumption and fuel use while ensuring uninterrupted public service and the continuity of academic operations, Southern Leyte State University will implement a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement and offsite class schedule throughout June 2026.

During this period, onsite enrollment transactions and all face-to-face office services will be temporarily unavailable.

All enrollees are advised to complete their transactions through the available online platforms and coordinate with the concerned offices via their official communication channels.

All other services will continue to be available remotely, and clients and stakeholders are encouraged to transact online or schedule their visits at a later date when onsite services resume.

This advisory is issued in line with relevant directives, including OP Memorandum Order No. 141, s. 2026, in view of OP Memorandum Order No. 67, Series of 2026, and Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026.

DESCRIPTION: It shows the fishers catching fish to highlight the bounty of the sea, as an important source of food, for food security. It also reflects how fishing supports the local economy and helps the community stay resilient during hard times. The artwork reminds us that caring for the sea and its resources, and working together as one community keeps both the environment and people sustainable for the future.

Southern Leyte State University-Bontoc Campus proudly announces two important university activities scheduled this May 2026, highlighting academic achievement, excellence, and student milestones.

Southern Leyte State University-Bontoc Campus warmly welcomes Samar State University-Mercedes Campus (SSU-MC) for its 2026 Internship Program.

The internship will feature a series of hands-on learning activities from May 30 to June 30, 2026, including aquaculture facility exposure, fish processing technologies, coastal resource and biophysical assessments, water quality assessment, basic snorkeling/SCUBA diving, GIS mapping, hatchery visit, field sample processing, and technical report preparation.

This program shows SLSU-Bontoc Campus’ continuing commitment to experiential learning, academic collaboration, and capacity-building in fisheries, marine biology, aquaculture, and aquatic-related sciences.

𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. (𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐂𝐒) I SLSU-Bontoc and the Resources, Environment, and Economics Center for Studies, Inc. (REECS) successfully conducted a coordination meeting as part of the initial scoping activities for the Technical Assistance on the formulation of Coastal and Marine Habitat Protection, Rehabilitation, and Management (CMHPRM) Plans under the World Bank-supported FishCoRe Project.

In partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the meeting served as an avenue to introduce the CMHPRM Technical Assistance and discuss planned activities for Sogod Bay. It also opened opportunities for collaboration with SLSU-Bontoc as an academic partner in support of coastal and marine habitat planning, protection, rehabilitation, and management initiatives.
