The last day of the Subanen Beadwork and Cultural Entrepreneurship Livelihood Research Project held on July 10, 2026 at MSU-ZS HM Hall.
On this third and last day of the project, all of the participants and organizers continued their journey toward the appreciation, promotion, and protection of the Subanen culture and the arts. Their finished beadworks that embodied the Subanen aesthetics, beliefs, and values were curated and displayed, and will be available to the public soon.
On this day, the participants successfully finished the training and finally received their certificates of completion and appreciation, as well as some humble tokens to commemorate this remarkable achievement.
Also, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) historically occured in the afternoon part of the program. This marked a new beginning of a new and far more impactful collaborations.
The event ended with inundating joy and excitement from the participants during the impression part delivered by Maam Selena Ansalay who spoke on behalf of the participants.
As this project came into conclusion, the entire team extends their sincerest gratitude to all of the partners of this project.
To the empowered and empowering Chancellor of the Mindanao State University - Zamboanga Sibugay, Prof. Sheila G. Magolama, who have been consistently supportive of this project, your unwavering support have propelled the team to execute this extension program excellently. We have honored your vision in making MSU-ZS a future-proof university thru empowering the minds and enriching the communities.
To the Paramount Princess of the Western Mindanao, Bae Labi Sonita M. Mande-Ryde, who has been very steadfast and unquestionably passionate for this project, the entire team is beyond grateful to your kindness, generosity, and compassion. Your commitment in uplifting the Subanen tribe has always inspired the hearts of many. The entire MSU-ZS is always ready to provide the support you need as it is our shared responsibility to protect and serve our communities.
To the Governor of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay, Dr. Dulce Ann Hofer. To the LGU-Buug, IPMR of Buug, and DTI-Buug, the team is truly thankful for the assistance you have extended and shown throughout the conduct of this project.
