[ SHORT NOTES]

There may be a lot of reasons to quit and give up, but we've got to make a decision to keep moving forward. Our hope may be threatened, but we can have the assurance that the One who gave you the promise is faithful to bring you through this. We can, because He can.

"The Persistent Widow"

The persistent widow has often encouraged me and kept me going in my trials. I’ve remembered her determination and faithfulness when mine have wanted to fail. It’s her story that gives me hope when hope begins to diminish.

In the parable that Jesus shared, there is a widow who was seeking justice and she took her cause up with an unsympathetic judge. At first, he denied her—over and over again with no change of heart. But the widow didn’t give up. After many attempts at asking for justice, the judge finally granted her request. Why? So that she would leave him alone!

Jesus continues with the lesson that if an unjust judge would grant the request of a widow, who he cares nothing about because she was persistent, how much more will God respond to His own children when they bring their request to Him.

God is good and He is faithful. He is just and He really hears the prayers of His people. There will be times when you feel as if your prayers are falling on deaf ears, or that God might not care for you as much as another. I’ve been there and it’s hard. But you can’t give up!

The widow didn’t stop when up against an unjust judge. With this in mind, be encouraged to keep pursuing a just God for those things important to you. He certainly hears you. He may not respond exactly how and when you’d like, but He will always respond in the perfect way at the right time.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without
wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

- Hebrews 10:23

"Exercise Faith"

Faith is like a muscle. It grows stronger as it is stressed. When your faith is tested, tried, and stretched, it is expanding for greater capacity. Trusting in God and believing in His sovereignty in this world and in your life is how you exercise the faith that He has given you. When you continuously trust Him by walking out and acting faithfully upon His Word and by remembering His wonderful deeds in gratitude, you are expanding the opportunities for your faith to increase.

In the book of Matthew, there's a story about an army officer's servant who was sick. The man goes to Jesus and tells him about his servant who is dying, asking that Jesus heal him. Jesus tells this officer that he will heal his servant. But the army officer replies to Jesus, "I'm not good enough for you to come into my house. Just give the order, and my servant will be fine. I'm a man who takes orders and gives orders. I can say to one of them 'Go!' and he goes. I can say to another, 'Come!' and he comes." The Bible says that Jesus marveled at the man's faith and that He had not found faith so great anywhere in Israel. This was a man who had true faith. He understood Jesus was Lord, and even though he had not had a lot of exposure to Jesus, immediately he had great faith. So great that Jesus marveled at it.

Do you want faith like the army officer? We grow in faith as we prove and live out the Word of God – as we exercise our faith and put it into action. It is then that you see God's faithfulness on display. God works through means. So you can't ask God to do something and then not work in coordination with what He's ordained in order to answer your request.

In the book of Romans, Paul says, "No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ." By reading God's Word, He increases your faith. You need to know His message to have faith. God produces faith in your soul by His work and transformation in you.

I encourage you to know His Word, to believe and trust in His Word so that your faith will increase. Despite your current situation or fears at this moment, believe the promises God has for you. Remember His past faithfulness in your life as a reminder that He doesn't change. He will remain faithful until the end.

[ SHORT NOTES ]

Every challenges and struggles is an opportunity to grow. It may be tough, but it builds us to be stronger.

"Defining Your Character"

Something about endurance has the incredible capacity to refine you. I suppose it’s like a fire for the silver, removing impurities and strengthening the character. Often because endurance goes hand-in-hand with trials and trials can burn.

One of the amazing results of persevering to the end is Christ-like character. It makes you a better person by pulling out the sin nature and cultivating a spirit that is kind, humble, patient, and above all, puts Christ before all else.

Romans 5 provides a blueprint for this journey. It’s not an easy one but it is an important one for every believer. It starts with the decision to rejoice in your sufferings. When you can do this, you fan into flame endurance, which produces character.

If you can make this journey, Romans affirms character. And not only here, either. Philippians 1 promises that if you will run the race with perseverance to the end, God will complete the good work He started all those years ago when you turned your heart over to Him.

You won’t find perfection today, but one day you will pass to your home—which Christ is preparing—and it will be here that you will find completion. You will walk, free from sin, in the fullness of who God originally created you to be.

Although you may want to give up today, remember that your perseverance will lend to a better version of yourself that resembles Christ more and more over time.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
- Romans 5:3‭-‬4 NIV

YES! (as we also miss MCL!)

As we come to an end of the week, we have an opportunity to rest in the peace that only Jesus can offer. We can't really control many things around us, but certainly, we can place / focus / put our heart & eyes upon Jesus -- in whom we can trust.

I don't know how's your week has been, pero what I know is that no matter how "up" or "down" that may be, we can all say to our soul -- let's return to Jesus // and I can assure you that He's, all this time, waiting for you to be back to Him.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. - Isaiah 26:3

God's love is šŸ™‚ Yes, He loves you still.

"Short Memories"

Have you ever felt this way where all of a sudden, everything good seemed to have gone away?

When life had gotten its way or perhaps you're having a bad day after all, still we can't miss the fact that it becomes really tough and hard to remember the blessings and favor in life when our vision is clouded by fear and anxiety. But hey, cheer up and keep one foot forward - here's the good news: You're not meant to journey this alone!

A verse in Hebrews 10:23 says that "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise." Yes! We can move forward by holding on to hope - that is in Christ! But why Him? Because He can be trusted to fulfil whatever He promised to us. I don't know how you're holding on to dear life but Christ has promised that He'll never leave you nor forsake you! He'll always be there by your side to remind, strengthen, and journey with you to live a life that matters most. The truth is: You're never alone. Every step, every moment, and every season - He's with you and always will.

So when the attack of short memories starts to creeps in your mind, reminder your heart once again that: You're not alone, Jesus is with You and we're better together with Him.

[ SHORT NOTES ]

Do you feel worthless? Unloved? Unseen?

Dear beloved, when you feel that way, forget those thoughts because they are completely wrong. To even think about the vastness of the universe - His creation - we look small, just a dust. But of all the creations the Lord has made, He only has a special touch in mankind. He crafted us wonderfully and made us with a purpose. We are walking on this world being seen by our Creator. When He sees us, He is pleased. He is delighted. That is something to hold on to - that our Father cares for us like no one in this world.

When you feel that way again, take a moment to remember how the Lord loves you. How He values you. At the end of the day, how He views you is all that matters.

You are not worthless.
You are loved.
You are seen. By our great God.

Stop by and let's read: Psalm 8
