What started as an online event of โ€œBawat Hakbang: Tungo sa Sining ng Pagkukwentoโ€ conducted by the 3rd-Year AB Communication students through Microsoft Teams, have shared stories and learnings that continued. 2nd-year Communication students of National Universityโ€“Laguna had the opportunity to learn directly from our guest speakers of GMA News Public Affairs professionals JC Rubio, Senior Program Manager, and Jazel Villamarin, who shared their experiences and insights on documentary storytelling and production.

From finding a story and its unique angle to understanding the realities behind documentary-making, the experts in storytelling gave students valuable industry perspectives as they prepare for their own Development Communication documentary projects.

The platform may have changed, but never in purpose. To take every step toward telling stories is make an action that will matter. ๐ŸŽฌโœจ

On October 7, 2026, the NU Laguna Communication Society, with the guidance of Ms. Alliana M. Ablan, AB Communication Program Chair, and Dr. Charisse T. Evangelio, AB Communication Instructor, conducted its initial Journalism Test for the junior high school students of Christian Lifeline Academy, Milagrosa.

More than just a test, the activity provided a glimpse of the studentsโ€™ current journalism skills and knowledge. The results will serve as a basis for the upcoming training sessions, helping identify the areas where the students can further learn, practice, and grow as young journalists.
