Our BS Fisheries student interns continue to take us beyond the classroom as we feature another group of learners who immersed themselves in the world of fisheries through their 240-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources β Regional Office 5 (BFAR 5), Bula, Camarines Sur, conducted from June 10 to July 22, 2026.
As part of their industry immersion, the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries students of the University of Camarines Norte β College of Fisheries, Aquatic Sciences, and Technology (CFAST) gained meaningful experiences that strengthened their technical knowledge, workplace skills, and appreciation of the important role of fisheries professionals in sustainable aquatic resource management.
Through hands-on activities, field exposure, and interactions with fisheries experts, our student interns experienced how classroom concepts are transformed into practical applications in the workplace. Their OJT journey allowed them to develop confidence, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of the diverse opportunities within the fisheries sector.
In this video presentation, our interns share their experiences at BFAR 5βthe activities they participated in, the lessons they learned, the challenges they overcame, and the moments that made their OJT journey memorable.
Every experience became a lesson.
Every challenge became an opportunity for growth.
Every learning moment became a step toward becoming future fisheries professionals.
The University of Camarines Norte β College of Fisheries, Aquatic Sciences, and Technology extends its sincere appreciation to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources β Regional Office 5 (BFAR 5) for welcoming our students, sharing valuable expertise, and providing a meaningful training environment that contributed to their professional development.
To our student interns, congratulations on completing this milestone! May this experience continue to inspire you to explore, innovate, and create meaningful contributions toward the sustainable development of our aquatic resources.
