Weโ€™re bringing in a special guest speaker straight from the frontlines of one of our trusted local veterinary clinic. If you want insider tips on handling actual walk-in chaos and emergency cases from someone who deals with it daily, you wonโ€™t want to miss this. This introductory session is designed for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students from Freshmen-Senior Year, including those who are still beginning their journey in veterinary medicine. Through a student-friendly discussion, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of triage, recognizing urgent cases, basic patient checking, calling for assistance, and the general principles of basic life support.

And of course, this is also a chance to get to know more about the mentorship and service programs of VKV-VLV Pi-Omicron Chapter.

The booth was filled with smiles, stories, and little moments that made the first days of the academic year a little more memorable. From free photo booth where students could capture moments with their friends, to Freedom Wall where everyone was free to write, share, and express whatever was on their minds, the booth became a small space where the CVM community could simply enjoy and connect. Of course, no welcome would be complete without food! From rice meals, cookies, pies, soft drinks, siopao, and water, VKV-VLV was happy to share simple treats that hopefully gave the freshmen a taste of the warm welcome of both the CVM and the VKV-VLV family.

But beyond the fun and food, the booth also offered something that reflects a part of what VKV-VLV values, learning through experience. The students were given the opportunity to try basic suturing, giving them a small glimpse of one of the practical skills they will encounter throughout their journey in veterinary medicine. It was not just an activity for enjoyment. It was a chance to experience, learn, and take the first steps toward becoming future veterinarians. Every stitch may seem small, but every skill learned today can become part of the knowledge and confidence they will carry in the years ahead.

More than introducing an organization, VKV-VLV hoped to introduce a family, one that values learning, service, camaraderie, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in the veterinary profession. To dear freshmen, welcome to the College of Veterinary Medicine! May your journey be filled with lessons worth remembering, friendships worth keeping, challenges that make you stronger, and experiences that will shape you into the veterinarians you aspire to become. And to everyone who visited the booth, shared a laugh, took a photo, wrote their thoughts, enjoyed the food, or tried their first stitch, thank you for being part of the day!

VKV-VLV looks forward to creating more memories, sharing more experiences, and growing together with the CVM community.
