𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸?

September 21 is officially recognized as
𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆 under Republic Act No. 11122. The date also carries historical significance as it coincides with the anniversary of the 1972 declaration of Martial Law, when press freedom and other civil liberties were severely restricted.

This day is a reminder.

A reminder of Cebu’s enduring commitment to a free press. Of the journalists who continue to tell stories and stand for truth. And of our responsibility to inform, hold power to account, and give space to voices that deserve to be heard.

For us Development Communicators, we carry the realities of our people and the truths that deserve to reach the public.

May we continue to communicate with courage and integrity.

On September 21, 1972, Martial Law was formally announced in the Philippines, beginning a period marked by restrictions on civil liberties and press freedom.

Newspapers were shut down. Broadcast stations were taken off the air. Journalists, activists, and other critics of the government faced censorship, intimidation, arrest, and detention.

Decades later, the ability to speak, write, report, and question remains a freedom that carries a history.

For every headline we publish, every story we tell, and every question we dare to ask, there is a reminder of what happens when the press is silenced.

Remember the voices that were taken away.

Remember those who continued to speak.

And remember why freedom of expression must be protected.

Recent examinations found 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸, which may be cancerous. She urgently needs a 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗽𝘀𝘆, 𝗖𝗧 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻, 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The family is humbly asking for any 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗶𝗻-𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 during this difficult time.

This 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎, 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, we are reminded that creating a cleaner world begins with the choices we make every day.

The theme, “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬,” calls attention to the importance of 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. What we leave on our plates may seem small, but when multiplied across households and communities, it becomes part of a much larger challenge.

Cebu Tech Intramurals: KADILAAB 2026 has officially concluded.

The week-long celebration filled the campus with competitions, lively activities, colorful booths, and memorable moments shared among Technologists.

The Guild of Development Communicators (GODC) successfully organized the 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝘆𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵. From Day 1 down to the last day, it continued to welcome students with jam sessions and fun activities to enjoy.

To everyone who joined us, thank you so much. Your presence and support made the celebration even more memorable.
