Internship Masterclass 2026: From Classroom to Community
The Internship Masterclass held on May 6, 2026, at Centennial Hall A successfully concluded with meaningful discussions and valuable learning experiences for the participants with a theme โFrom Classroom to Community: Preparing Development Communication Student Interns for Research-Driven, Ethical, and Impactful Practice.โ The event featured insightful discussions that equipped students with the knowledge and preparation necessary for their upcoming internship journey.
The program was opened by Dr. Mila Mae Caballero, Chairman of the Department of Communication, who gave the welcome remarks and stated the purpose of the said activity.
The first guest speaker for the masterclass was Ms. Emily Ann Mae Chiu, who discussed Project Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation for Development, highlighting the importance of strategic planning and effective assessment in development initiatives.
Secondly, the second speaker, Ms. Sheila Mae Lao, shared her expertise on Communication Ethics in the Workplace, emphasizing professionalism, responsibility, and ethical communication practices in professional environments.
Meanwhile, Ms. Jayne C. Abella, the third speakers, delivered her discussion on Community Participation for Development, underscoring the value of community involvement and collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals.
Professor Junas Flores delivered the closing remarks that inspired and encouraged the third-year participants of the event.
