CTU CONSOLACION CELEBRATES PROJECT GUGMA CULMINATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BARANGAY JUGAN

Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus, through its Extension Services, held the culmination of Project GUGMA sa Pagbasa Phase 3.0 for Batch 2 beneficiaries on October 10, 2026, at the CTU Consolacion Gymnasium. Organized in partnership with Barangay Jugan, the celebration brought together beneficiaries, community partners, faculty members, and student volunteers, highlighting the university’s commitment to supporting learning beyond the classroom. The event also marked the closing of Project REBYU for its second batch of beneficiaries, with Barangays Tayud and Nangka joining the broader extension partnership.

The program opened with prayer and patriotic hymns, followed by the opening remarks delivered by Mr. Lyndon M. Adolfo, Sports & Culture Chairperson.The scheduled project impressions featured Dr. Donna Mae S. Tagsip for Project GUGMA sa Pagbasa 3.0 and Dr. Himeji-Ken V. Delapeña for Project REBYU. These segments provided an opportunity to reflect on the initiatives and the shared efforts of the university and its partner communities in supporting educational development.

A highlight of the culmination was the distribution of certificates, recognizing the participation and contributions of those involved in the extension initiatives. The program also included messages of commitment from partner barangay leaders, including Hon. Antonietto O. Pepito, Barangay Captain of Jugan, alongside representatives of Tayud and Nangka. BSIT’S ROYAL VANGUARDS RECLAIM OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER THREE YEARS AS CTU CONSOLACION CONCLUDES INTRAMURALS 2026

Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus celebrates the culmination of Intramurals 2026 with the Royal Vanguards of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program reclaiming the overall championship after three years. Headed by their Team Manager, Ms. Krystel Ajias, the team’s victory highlights the dedication, preparation, and teamwork of its participants. The closing and awarding celebration recognizes achievements across sports, culture, and the arts under the theme, “One CTU, United in Sports, Culture and the Arts, Driven by Excellence, Inspired for the Future.”

The Royal Vanguards clinched the overall championship with 84 points, finishing five points ahead of the Aurora Titans, who garnered 79 points as first runner-up. Ubuntu Thunder secured second runner-up with 66 points, followed by Rising Sakura as third runner-up with 64 points. Samba Verde completed the standings as fourth runner-up with 46 points. For the BSIT community, reclaiming the championship after three years marks a proud milestone, reflecting the collective efforts of its athletes, performers, and supporters under Ms. Ajias’s leadership.

The Grand Closing and Awarding Ceremony honors the teams’ accomplishments through the presentation of the final overall rankings and recognition of the winners. The closing program includes a closing message, the ceremonial extinguishing of the intramural flame, the lowering of the intramurals banner, and the singing of the CTU Hymn. These symbolic activities bring the competitions to a meaningful conclusion and reaffirm the discipline, perseverance, respect, and sportsmanship demonstrated throughout the celebration.

The campus extends its appreciation to the athletes, performers, coaches, team managers, faculty, administrative personnel, organizers, and supporters who contributed to Intramurals 2026. Day 5 also features the Supreme Student Government’s acquaintance party, “Masquerade Fantasia: A Night of Masked Fantasy,” offering students an opportunity to celebrate friendships and shared experiences. As the Royal Vanguards bring the championship back to the BSIT program, their achievement stands alongside the contributions of every team in making the intramurals a celebration of excellence, unity, and campus pride.

CEBUTECH CONSOLACION KICKS OFF INTRAMURALS 2026 WITH GRAND OPENING CEREMONY.

CEBU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY – CONSOLACION CAMPUS officially opened its much-anticipated Intramurals 2026 on October 6, 2026, bringing together students, faculty, and personnel in a colorful celebration of sportsmanship, culture, unity, and camaraderie. Anchored on the theme, “One CTU. United in Sports, Culture and the Arts. Driven by Excellence, Inspired for the Future,” Day 2 highlighted the Grand Opening Ceremony, where the five competing teams proudly displayed their identities, colors, and team spirit. The festivities began with the assembly of teams and delegations at 3:30 PM at the Co-Jordan Seafood Restaurant Road, followed by the Foot Parade of Teams toward the CTU Consolacion Campus and the preparation and formation of teams at the campus grounds.

The formal opening ceremony commenced with the entrance and grand parade of teams, featuring Samba Verde – The Green Warriors, Rising Sakura – The Crimson Warriors, Ubuntu Thunder – The Golden Lions, Aurora Titans – The Blue Champions, and Royal Vanguard – The Purple Legends. This was followed by the Invocation, Philippine National Anthem, Sugbo Hymn, and Consolacion Hymn, setting a solemn yet spirited atmosphere for the celebration. As Dean of Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug delivered the welcome address, he underscored the significance of the Intramurals as more than a competition, emphasizing its role in strengthening friendship, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the sense of belonging among CebuTech students.

Adding excitement to the ceremony was the presentation of participating teams by their respective Team Managers, followed by the raising of team banners by their Muses and Escorts and Team Managers. The program continued with the Opening Dance – “Sayaw sa Pista,” performed by the Guild, showcasing the vibrancy and cultural energy of the CebuTech community. One of the most symbolic moments of the afternoon was the Torch Relay and Lighting of the Intramurals Flame, representing the passion for excellence, fair play, and unity that will guide the athletes and participants throughout the celebration. The Oath of Sportsmanship further affirmed the commitment of all competitors to uphold integrity, respect, and fairness in every event.

The ceremony reached its highlight with the Declaration of the Opening of Intramurals 2026 by Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina, Campus Director of CTU Consolacion Campus, officially signaling the start of the campus-wide celebration. The opening festivities culminated in the Dance Palabas, “Sayaw ng Mundo: One World, One Rhythm, One Champion,” featuring the five teams in a vibrant presentation of their respective identities, cultures, colors, and team spirit. With the Intramurals flame burning and the campus filled with enthusiasm, CTU Consolacion Intramurals 2026 moves forward as a celebration not merely of winning medals and championships, but of building friendships, discovering talents, strengthening school spirit, and demonstrating that despite competing under different colors, the entire community stands proudly as One CTU—united in sports, culture, and the arts. CEBUTECH Consolacion Honors Educators in Heartfelt Teachers’ Day Celebration

Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus (CTU-CC) celebrated Teachers’ Day with a meaningful gathering dedicated to recognizing the commitment, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions of its educators. Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Government (SSG), the celebration brought together students, faculty members, administrators, and guests in a shared expression of gratitude for the men and women who have devoted themselves to teaching and shaping generations of learners. The activity reflected the strong culture of student participation and leadership fostered by the SSG in campus affairs.

The celebration commenced with a Holy Mass from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., setting a solemn and thankful atmosphere for the occasion. Following the preparation period, Hon. Trixie Valenzuela delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the faculty and guests and underscoring the significance of honoring teachers not only for the knowledge they impart but also for the guidance, patience, and inspiration they provide to their students. Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina, Campus Director, then delivered the Teachers’ Day message, paying tribute to the faculty members whose dedication continues to advance the university’s mission of providing quality education and developing competent and responsible graduates.

One of the highlights of the program was the Words of Appreciation to Honor the Presence of the Pillars of CTU-CC, delivered by Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug, Dean of Student Affairs and Services. The Higher Education Partnerships Conference (HEPCON) 2026, held on October 1–2, 2026, at Radisson Blu Cebu, Philippines, brings together higher education leaders, international delegates, university administrators, and academic partners to strengthen international cooperation and advance the global engagement of higher education institutions. INNOVATE, COLLABORATE, CELEBRATE: SCI-MATH MONTH 2026 ADVANCES EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

Innovation, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity took center stage as the Sci-Math Month 2026 Celebration was held on September 29, 2026, at the Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus, carrying the theme “Innovate, Collaborate, and Celebrate: Advancing Excellence in Science and Mathematics.” The whole-day celebration provided students with opportunities to showcase their knowledge, creativity, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills while strengthening their appreciation for the important roles of science and mathematics in everyday life and nation-building.

A Welcome Remarks was given by Mr. Nino Ian Judaya, FSTLP Adviser, followed by a Message of Inspiration was delivered by Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, who encouraged students to look beyond science and mathematics as mere academic subjects and recognize them as powerful tools for understanding problems, developing solutions, and creating meaningful change. He emphasized the value of curiosity, critical thinking, perseverance, and collaboration, reminding the students that many of society's greatest advances begin with a simple question and the courage to search for an answer. His message challenged the young learners to continue exploring, innovating, and using their knowledge not only to excel academically but also to contribute positively to their communities and society.

The celebration featured an exciting lineup of activities designed to test both intellect and creativity. Morning competitions included Human Chess, Slogan Making, Modulo Art, Math Scavenger, Tower of Hanoi, and Sudoku, while the afternoon events featured Science Feud, Damath, Quiz Bowl, and Rubik’s Cube competitions. LAGON EXTENDS SUPPORT TO CEBUTECH CONSOLACION WITH 250 PLYWOOD SHEETS

Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus received 250 sheets of plywood through the initiative and support of Hon. Dason Larenz A. Lagon, Cebu Provincial Board Member representing the 6th District of Cebu. The delivery provides valuable construction materials that can be utilized for ongoing campus improvements, repairs, and other facility-related needs aimed at providing students, faculty, and personnel with a safer, more functional, and conducive learning environment.

The University expresses its sincere appreciation to Board Member Dason Larenz A. Lagon and his team for once again responding to the needs of CebuTech Consolacion. CTU CONSOLACION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE TACKLES CAMPUS RISKS, OPPORTUNITIES, AND ACTION PLANS

The Cebu Technological University–Consolacion Campus Management Committee (ManCom) convened on September 25, 2026, at the Campus Library, bringing together key officials to discuss institutional operations, risk management, strategic opportunities, and corresponding action plans. The meeting was led by Campus Director Dr. Sarah Jane A. Colina and attended by Mr. Joseph R. Pegaredo, Administrative Officer V; Dr. Joemar T. Miñoza, Chairperson for Research and Development; Dr. Kenny A. Kiamco,Chairperson, PERG; Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug, Dean of Student Affairs and Services; Prof. Arvin B. Salera, Chairperson for Quality Assurance; Mr. Rener L. Malagapo, Accountant II; Mr. Roland P. Recamara, Budget Officer/President of the Non-Teaching Association; and Mr. Rielouie T. Angtud, President of the Faculty Association. Also present is the CD Executive Secretary, Ms. Marisol Durano-Asmad, who acts as the official Secretary.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Risks and Opportunities Reports by the concerned officials and unit representatives.Dr. Joemar T. Miñoza for MFO 3, and Dr. Kenny A. Kiamco for MFO 4. Meanwhile, Mr. Joseph R. Pegaredo presented the risks, opportunities, and proposed measures concerning the Administration, while Dr. Danilo Y. Patalinghug presented the Risk and Opportunities Report for Student Affairs and Services Programs. The presentations identified key operational and strategic risks, potential opportunities for improved performance and service delivery, and corresponding mitigation, enhancement, and action strategies.

The ManCom meeting underscored CTU Consolacion Campus’ commitment to proactive, evidence-based, and collaborative institutional management. Through the presentations and deliberations of the committee members, identified concerns were examined and translated into appropriate interventions and action plans aimed at minimizing risks while maximizing opportunities. Under the leadership of Dr. Sarah Jane A.
