𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬, 𝐎𝐒𝐂-𝐇𝐨𝐑 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳 𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐕𝐏

Following the resignation of former External Vice President Marc Nelson M. Saraza, the University of Southeastern Philippines Obrero Student Council House of Representatives (USeP-OSC HoR) confirmed the appointment of John Rex G. Lopez as EVP for the academic year 2025–2026.

The appointment was formalized through Approved House Resolution No. 40, Series of 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the 2025 OSC Constitution and By-Laws.

The position became vacant after Saraza stepped down due to personal reasons, issuing the need for an immediate replacement to ensure continuity in the council’s external engagements and partnerships.

In accordance with the resolution, the House exercised its authority under Article VI, Section 5(b) of the OSC Codes and By-Laws to confirm appointments.

The resolution cited the need to ensure the uninterrupted pursuit of sponsorship opportunities, maintain external partnerships, and sustain the council’s representation in dealings with outside organizations and stakeholders.

Lopez, a student from the College of Technology taking up Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Electrical Technology, previously served as External Vice President for AY 2024–2025.

The resolution noted his experience, relevant training in partnerships and external relations, and certification of eligibility as basis for his appointment.

The HoR, in the same resolution, expressed confidence in Lopez’s capacity to fulfill the responsibilities of the office, including upholding interorganizational partnerships and advancing opportunities beneficial to the student body.

The council said the appointment aims to ensure continued representation and engagement of the OSC with external institutions as the academic year progresses.

The final day of 𝐄-𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 arrived with a shift in rhythm—one that celebrated intellect, creativity, and culture. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟓 marked the culmination of the week-long fest, honoring not just competition, but the diverse talents that define the community.

The morning opened with academic events, where sharp minds took the spotlight. In the 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, ELC 1’s 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐲𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐞𝐳, 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐲𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 outperformed the field, showcasing teamwork, knowledge, and composure under pressure, garnering an impressive score of 55 points over ELC 2's 35 points and ELC 3's 46 points.

Meanwhile, the 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 unfolded with calculated moves and quiet intensity. ELC 4’s 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐰𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐫 asserted complete dominance, winning all his matches and standing undefeated (5-0) throughout the competition.

As the afternoon set in, the stage transformed for the sociocultural events, led by the much-awaited 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Voices echoed with passion and emotion as contestants poured their hearts into every note.

ELC 1’s 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐨 captured the spotlight by winning the 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨 category. He later returned to the stage alongside 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐨, also from ELC 1, as the duo claimed victory in the 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐮𝐞𝐭 competition—an impressive double triumph.

The day concluded with the awarding and closing ceremony, bringing 𝐄-𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 to a meaningful close. The morning kicked off with 𝐁𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧, where precision and speed ruled the court. ELC 2’s 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐳 claimed the women’s singles title, while ELC 3’s 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐥-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 dominated the men’s singles category. In the men’s doubles, ELC 2’s 𝐑𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 showcased strong chemistry and control to secure the championship over ELC 1.

Momentum carried into the 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 showdown, as ELC Team A overwhelmed ELC Team B with a commanding 76–37 victory. 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐬 of ELC 2 asserted his dominance in the paint, pouring in 19 big points and earning the MVP title through sheer power and presence.

As the afternoon unfolded, the 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 court became the next battleground. ELC Team A once again proved unstoppable, sweeping ELC Team B in straight sets to seal another decisive win. 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐞𝐥 of ELC 2 stood out with his all-around performance, rightfully taking home the MVP honors.

Speed took center stage in the 𝟏𝟎𝟎-𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐡, where determination met explosive bursts of power. ELC 1's 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐚 topped the women's category, while ELC 2's 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐚 sprinted his way to victory in the men’s division, thrilling the crowd with their finishes.

[𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈]

From 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟑, 𝐄-𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 pulsed with adrenaline as keys clacked, comms flared, and every match delivered decisive moments. The event transformed the stage into a digital battleground where skill, strategy, and teamwork stood at the forefront of competition.

The event opened with an online opening ceremony conducted via Google Meet, setting a focused and competitive tone for the days ahead. ASSETS officers led the program, bringing together participants and audiences in a shared celebration of eSports. 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐒 A𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 formally opened E-Fest 2026 through his opening remarks, emphasizing sportsmanship, excellence, and passion throughout the whole event.

Following the ceremony, the eSports competitions officially began. In 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬: 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠, the finals tested both teams to their limits. ELC 2 secured the championship after a hard fought 2 to 1 series against ELC 4. Their roamer, 𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨, earned the Finals MVP award with his signature Mathilda, delivering timely and game changing plays that powered a remarkable comeback.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 showcased high level tactical play as ELC 1 and ELC 4 secured the championship titles in their respective brackets. ELC 2 finished in second place after a strong run, while 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 of ELC 4 claimed the Finals MVP award through consistent and dominant performances.

In 𝐃𝐎𝐓𝐀 𝟐, teamwork and coordination defined the final series. The combined lineup of ELC 1 and ELC 2 defeated ELC 3 in a closely contested 2-1 match. 𝐑𝐞𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐨 of ELC 2 stood out as Finals MVP, delivering exceptional Pudge plays that anchored their victory.

Three days brought countless clutch moments and unforgettable highlights. 𝐄-𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 showed that competition thrives when passion, discipline, and teamwork come together. Congratulations to all teams and participants. GG 🏆🔥
