Dear UIC/ICC Alumnae,

Praised be Jesus and Mary!

The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Scholarship Foundation, established by M. Ma. Assumpta David, RVM has the mission of reaching out to deserving but economically challenged students and providing them the means to have quality Christian education. It is supported by generous individuals (including UIC alumni) and business organizations.

In 2003, the RBN scholarship Program partnered with the University of the Immaculate Conception in a fund raising activity dubbed as “Seventeen Artworks to College: An Art Today, a Treasure Tomorrow” in support of the UIC Scholarship Foundation. A good number of aspiring college students benefitted from the proceeds of that fund raising activity as well as from the succeeding support and linkages provided by the Foundation. To date, the UIC Scholarship Foundation has already produced 136 college graduates.

Inspired by the positive difference that such fund raising activity made on the life of the beneficiaries and with the strong common desire to reach out to more deserving students, the RBN Scholarship Program and the UIC Scholarship Foundation are now partnering again. “Seventeen Artworks to UIC: An Art Today, a Treasure Tomorrow Part II,” which was launched last December 8, 2013 or a decade after the first partnership, aims to raise scholarship fund and expand the reach of its beneficiaries to include not only college students but also the deserving but economically challenged high school students.

Like in the past, this fund raising activity relies on the generous support of individuals who share the mission of education for those who have lesser economic means. It is for this reason that we are humbly seeking your participation and support to this noble endeavor. Attached, for your reference, is the brochure for this fund raising activity. Please refer to the back portion of the brochure for the raffle mechanics, in which we hope you can channel your support.

We thank you in advance and we fervently pray that God blesses you and rewards your generosity a hundredfold.

Sincerely in Jesus, Mary and Mother Ignacia,

Signed S. MA. MARISSA R. VIRI, RVM
UIC President

Signed MRS. RHODORA B. NOGRALES
Head, RBN Scholarship Program

Praised be Jesus & Mary!

FAARSI is extending an invitation once again, this time to the 5th General Assembly to be held in Cagayan de Oro City on May 24, 2014.

Alumni associations of Northern Mindanao schools led by Lourdes College are the hosts of this 5th assembly. We apologize for sending you this formal invitation with only three (3) weeks left because details have just been finalized. Alumni association officers who have been following the FAARSI page have been informed of the date since January and quite a number from Luzon have already made their flight bookings.

The exact venue is on the 5th floor of Polymedic Medical Plaza, Kauswagan Highway, Cagayan de Oro City as Lourdes College does not have a huge function room (where dinner can also be served) to accommodate the expected delegates of around 300. alumni. Unlike in past years, the assembly will start in the afternoon and end after dinnertime. There will be a Mass at 2:00 pm, to be followed by the program and business matters. We will have fellowship and fun activities during and after dinner. Delegates may come in their alumni association shirts or any casual attire.

Registration fee of around P200 (to be finalized) will be charged from every delegate to cover afternoon snacks and dinner. With regard to lodging for those coming from outside northern Mindanao, Lourdes College's HRM Mini Hotel has been reserved for the delegates. Room rates have not been communicated to us but we expect this to be cheaper than those charged by hostels or pension houses in the city.

We hope that delegates from your alumni association will be able to join us. Please let us know the headcount as we need this in advance for food catering purposes. The delegates may email us back, or post a message on the FAARSI page if they have questions on the venue (map to follow), schedule and accommodation. Maraming salamat po!

Respectfully,

Grace Camacho-de Jesus
FAARSI President
