โAng tunay na tagumpay ng isang leader ay hindi nasusulat sa kung gaano siya kataas umabot kundi kung paano siya nanatiling totoo habang siya ay umaakyat.โ
This was the message emphasized by guest speaker Mr. Frank Ellie Villa Carlos Morales during โPugay 2026: Henarasyong Mahusay, Selebrasyon ng Tagumpay,โ organized by Campus Student Government (CSG), in partnership with the the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO), at the Social Hall, Academic Bldg. III, last May 7.
The event served as a meaningful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and impact of student leaders and organizations whose dedication, vision, and service continue to shape the campus environment.
Now on its second year, PUGAY gathered campus leaders, organization officers, and advisers in celebration of their contributions and commitment to student service throughout the academic year.
Dean of Instruction Prof. Glenda C. Magno described the event as a tribute to student leaders who continuously dedicate themselves to serving the university community.
โThis is a day of recognizing the efforts of all the student leaders,โ Magno said.
She also commended the strong cooperation and unity demonstrated by various student organizations and campus leaders.
Meanwhile, CSG Adviser Prof. Rubilene Almeron encouraged student leaders to continue serving with integrity and compassion, emphasizing that recognition should motivate them to further develop their abilities and commitment to public service.
โNawa'y magsilbi itong inspirasyon upang lalo pa nating pagyamanin ang ating kakayahan at ipagpatuloy ang pagseserbisyo na may puso at integridad,โ she said.
As he delivered his State of the Student Government Address, CSG President James Paul Quilao underscored the value of quiet yet meaningful leadership, stressing that genuine service is not always visible but leaves a lasting impact on the lives of students.
โIto ang tunay na serbisyo โ tahimik, hindi laging nakikita pero mahalaga,โ Quilao stated.
He further emphasized that leadership should not be measured by the number of activities conducted, but by the number of students assisted and concerns addressed by student leaders.
The event also featured โHibla ng Alaala,โ an interactive activity where participants exchanged colored ribbons with fellow student leaders, with each color symbolizing a specific meaning and shared experience.
The program concluded with the recognition of outstanding student leaders, organizations, and advisers for their significant contributions to campus life, community engagement, and student service. BLOOMES remained the Most Outstanding Student Organization, followed by the Neuclipierean Club and EDUCommunity. Class mayors were also recognized through awards such as Most Outstanding Mayor of the Year, Most Outstanding Commitment to Service, and Most Outstanding Rookie Mayor.
As Pugay 2026 came to a close, the celebration served as a reminder that sincere leadership and genuine public service continue to create a lasting impact beyond a leaderโs term of office.
