THE NEGROS LITERARY CONNECTION. What does a place do to the imagination? How does it seep into the language we choose, the stories we tell, the metaphors we reach for in the dark? And what is it about Negros Island—its mountains, its history, its people—that has made it, again and again, a source for some of the finest writing in the Filipino literary tradition? The National Museum of the Philippines - Dumaguete [ IG: ] presents MUSE AND METAPHOR AT THE MUSEUM: THE NEGROS LITERARY CONNECTION, a visitor engagement activity in partnership with Libraria Books [ IG: ]. The exhibit is free to the public from APRIL 7 to MAY 31. Here you will see a treasury of books, zines, and other publications that showcase various literary connections to the Negrense way of life. Leaf through the works that invite you into the imagination of the island and beyond, or settle in and read some of the books at the NMP DUmaguete's Knowledge Nook. In celebration of National Literature Month and in support of Dumaguete as a UNESCO Creative City of Literature, the National Museum of the Philippines–Dumaguete welcomes you to our literary heritage.
