Guimaras State University (GSU) proudly celebrates another milestone in its growing international academic engagement as Prof. Adrian J. Forca and Instr. Reynro T. Herrera have been accepted into the highly regarded Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship (NJYGRF) of O.P. Jindal Global University in Haryana, India.

From June 7 to July 10, 2026, the two faculty members will take part in an intensive research fellowship that gathers promising scholars from different parts of the world for academic exchange, collaborative inquiry, and cross-cultural learning.

The NJYGRF is recognized as a distinguished international program designed to foster scholarly engagement across disciplines. Through the fellowship, participants work alongside renowned faculty mentors, contribute to ongoing research initiatives, and explore contemporary global concerns through multidisciplinary perspectives. The program also provides opportunities for intellectual dialogue, academic networking, publication development, and immersion in India's rich cultural and educational landscape.

University President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreño, together with the entire GSU community, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Forca and Instr. Herrera for this noteworthy accomplishment. The application deadline for the 2026–2028 COASTHazar Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme has been extended to 1 June 2026.

COASTHazar is a joint MSc programme offered by IHE Delft, Universidade do Algarve, Portugal, and Universidad de Cantabria, Spain, focusing on coastal hazards, climate change impacts, risk assessment, and adaptation.
