Leadership, for Thrude, is an opportunity to uplift others. Leadership encompasses values of servant-leadership, commitment, and service above self—values what Thrude learned in the field. Through roles such as Vice President in the Supreme Secondary Learner Government, Editor-in-Chief of the english Student Publication, and President for years in the YES-O, she continually created spaces where voices are heard and ideas nurture. She leads not only with confidence, but with empathy. For her, leadership is not always about leading, about being in the spotlight, it also about listening and acknowledging the collective efforts, and bringing the people together in the stage. As what her juniors, her nakshies say, she leads and she inspires.
Every woman has the ability to inspire others and uplift communities. Service, excellence, and leadership are not just mere words but they are a testament that nothing can hinder a heart to serve. Being a woman is not being less. It is about being empowered, being stronger, and being an inspiration to all. Gerthrude Minerva’s journey reminds us that excellence is not defined solely by recognition, but by the impact one leaves to the community. In her pursuit of knowledge, leadership, and service, she embodies the spirit that a woman possesses—strength, compassion, and resilience that Woman’s Month celebrates. Her story stands as a powerful reminder: when women lead with purpose, they inspire a future shaped by courage, service, and hope.
