In loving memory of Engr. Jose “Joey” L. Virgula, Jr. Licera Virgula🪽
Today, we lost not only our colleague, but someone who became a friend and a part of our PDAS family.
Engr. Joey was our senior—the only one among us who was considerably older than most of the team. Yet, he never allowed the age difference to become a distance between us. He knew how to laugh with us, socialize with us, share stories with us, and simply be one of us. He was witty, humble, generous, and kind. Soft-spoken and gentle, he was the kind of person who seemed incapable of holding anger against anyone.
He was a good man, a devoted family person, and a great father. At work, he was someone we could look up to—not only because of his experience as an engineer, but because of the way he treated people.
What touches us most is knowing that even in his final days, while he was in the hospital, he was looking for us. Somehow, in those difficult moments, he still remembered his colleagues and friends. It showed us how much he valued the relationships he had built with us, just as much as we valued having him in our lives.
Engr. Joey, thank you for the years of friendship, the stories, the laughter, the wisdom, and the kindness you shared with us. Thank you for showing us that being a senior does not mean standing apart—it can mean making everyone feel welcome.
You will be deeply missed by your PDAS family.
Rest peacefully, Engr. Joey. We will remember you with fondness, gratitude, and a smile.
May you rest in peace, and may your family find comfort in knowing how many lives you touched.🪽💕
