A quote that I engraved in my heart and mind whenever I doubted myself about taking that first step.

I embarked on this journey with uncertainty. When my dream course seemed out of reach, I applied to CvSU-Imus and chose my course without expecting much, feeling disheartened because I couldn't pursue my dream.

Little did I know that being a BSOA student would take me on a rollercoaster ride. The BSOA program surprised me with its diverse initiatives that opened doors to countless opportunities and allowed me to showcase my passion for art and creativity. Art has always been my way of expressing who I am—a bridge that connects me with the people around me and gives a voice to the thoughts and emotions that words alone could never fully express.

Along the way, I began to trust the detours. I realized that not every path unfolds the way we expect, but sometimes the unexpected route leads us exactly where we're meant to be. We often have to go through seasons of uncertainty and emptiness before we can truly appreciate a life filled with purpose and fulfillment.

To those who are walking the same path, trust yourself and have the courage to take that first step. Stop stressing over what you can't control because it's up to you to get yourself where you want to be.

I've always been a perfectionist, and I often tied my self-worth to my academic performance. There were times when I felt pressured to constantly prove myself, to always meet expectations, and to keep going even when I was already exhausted. There were days when I'd ask myself,

"Kaya pa ba today?"

"Pwede bang magpahinga muna?"

"Worth it pa ba 'to?"

Even then, I still believed I had to show up every single day. Along the way, I realized that it's okay to pause and that progress isn't measured by perfection, but by having the courage to keep showing up whenever I can. Every small effort eventually led me to where I am today.

Don't let pressure take away the joy of your college journey. Learn to celebrate your progress, not just your achievements. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and encourage you to become better. The right environment will help you grow, remind you of your purpose, and make every challenge feel lighter.

‎I used to think growth came from achieving something big. But as I look back on my college journey, I realized it was never about one defining moment. Instead, it was the collection of ordinary days, unexpected opportunities, and small victories that slowly showed me what I was capable of.

‎Maybe that's what growth really looks like. It doesn't always arrive with applause or life-changing moments. Sometimes, it quietly unfolds in the background while we're too busy living the journey to notice it's happening, until one day we look back and realize we've become someone our younger selves would be proud of.

My most important experience as a BSOA student was learning the value of perseverance, patience, and consistency. My journey was not always easy, as I faced challenges, pressure, and moments when I doubted myself. However, these experiences taught me to keep moving forward even when progress seemed slow. I realized that success is not always about being the most talented or achieving everything immediately, but about having the determination to continue despite the difficulties.

Throughout my journey, every challenge and experience helped me grow not only as a student but also as an individual. I learned the importance of staying committed to my goals and appreciating the small progress I made each day.

To my fellow BSOA students, do not be discouraged by challenges or setbacks. Continue learning, remain patient with yourself, and keep doing your best. There may be times when your efforts seem small or unnoticed, but every step you take contributes to your growth and future success. Trust the process, stay consistent, and never give up on your dreams. With perseverance and dedication, even the smallest efforts can eventually lead to meaningful and lasting achievements.

Balancing academics and my passion was never easy, but it taught me that every challenge has a purpose, every sacrifice is an investment, and every setback is an opportunity to grow.

As a BSOA student and a member of the BSOA Performing Arts and Sinag-Tala Dance Troupe, learning to balance my responsibilities in academics while pursuing my passion became one of the greatest challenges of my college journey. There were days when classes, deadlines, performances, and commitments came all at once. There were moments when I felt physically and emotionally drained—times when I cried because the pressure became overwhelming. I questioned myself more than once, but I reminded myself of why I started and chose to keep moving forward.

Looking back, those difficult moments became the experiences that shaped me the most. I learned that when you truly love what you do, hard work becomes meaningful, and perseverance becomes your greatest strength.

To my fellow BSOA students, never be afraid to pursue the things that make you feel alive, even when the journey becomes challenging. Believe in yourself, trust in God's plan, continue chasing your dreams, and remember that every challenge you overcome is preparing you for something greater.

There is a different kind of power in being afraid of making a fool of yourself—yet choosing to do it anyway.

If there is one thing I've learned the hard way throughout my journey as a student, it is the importance of letting go of my fear of imperfection because life is too short and too precious for us to be haunted by so many "what ifs."

I recall my time in seventh grade when I was seated at the very back of our classroom. During a recitation, one of my teachers had to walk over to where I was sitting just so she could hear my voice. That was the moment I realized I had to step out of my comfort zone, be bold, and make myself heard.

Since then, as a BSOA student and Iskolar ng Bayan, I have made the most of every opportunity and privilege that came my way. I've served in an academic student organization, led various group projects, become part of a performing arts group and performed before a crowd, earned awards in leadership, arts, and photography competitions, worked part-time, and pursued my personal hobbies and interests. But dare I say—there's still a lot for me to learn and explore.

To my fellow BSOA students, always remember that growth begins when we become comfortable with being uncomfortable. Some dreams are too loud to be silenced, and life will not wait for us to be ready unless we allow ourselves to take that first step.

𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 𝙡𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 🎓✨

From 𝐁𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 to 𝐁𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫, everything seemed slow and difficult—until there was only a month left before it all came to an end.

It all began with an adjustment period during the first few weeks of classes, followed by endless grinding, late-night cramming, and now preparations for the graduation rites while sending countless résumés to employers.

Ultimately, this journey taught us to enjoy and appreciate the present, learn from and cherish the past, and look forward to a brighter future as we move on to the next chapter of our lives. 💚💛
