Congratulations to BS Agribusiness 1 – Section B, Champion of the Final-Term Musical Video Competition, alongside AB English Language Studies–2 and BS Agribusiness–1A! 🥇👏

This musical video is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for Foreign Language 1 – Español under Lesson 4.2: Mi Casa, under the guidance of Mr. Kelvin Klyde Villamore. 💯🫶🏻

Inspired by "Baila Grachi" by Isabella Castillo, the students creatively brought to life a story of campus life—where learning, friendship, and young romance intertwine. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Visayas State University Isabel, the video captures the university not only as a place of academic excellence but also as every Viscan's home—a safe haven where cultures connect, multilingual voices are celebrated, and lifelong memories are made. 💚🌍🇪🇸

Through music, storytelling, and the Spanish language, this performance reminds us that learning extends far beyond the classroom—it lives in every conversation, every friendship, every shared dream, and every corner we proudly call Mi Casa. 🏡✨

𝗔𝗕 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘂𝗺 (𝗜𝗠𝗥𝗖) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 of VSU, Visayas State University Isabel conducted via zoom conferencing.

Congratulations to Mr. Villamor for representing the ABELS Program and for contributing to the growing discourse on language, literature, and gender studies at the international research stage.

On May 22, 2026, Mr. Kelvin Klyde C. Villamor, Core Faculty of the AB English Language Studies (ABELS) Program and Instructor from the Department of Arts and Sciences, presented his undergraduate thesis entitled, “A Feminist Stylistic Analysis of the Major Women Characters in the ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ Series” 💅🏻✨

Mr. Villamor’s study reflects the relevance of the AB English Language Studies Program in addressing contemporary issues through language and literary scholarship. By employing feminist stylistics as a framework, the research examines how linguistic and literary elements shape the portrayal of women in the widely acclaimed Maria Clara at Ibarra series, contributing to broader discussions on gender representation, discourse, and culture.

His participation underscores the ABELS Program’s commitment to developing research-oriented educators and scholars who can critically analyze language, literature, and media.

It also highlights the program’s role in advancing interdisciplinary research that bridges the humanities with contemporary social concerns, aligning with the colloquium’s vision of knowledge integration for sustainable development.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Max Teody T. Quimilat for sharing his valuable knowledge, rich insights, and meaningful experiences during this engaging academic discourse on ethnography, cultural mapping, and language in society.

The webinar successfully gathered faculty members, students, researchers, DepEd teachers, ABELS and Social Studies majors, and participants from various universities, fostering deeper appreciation for the role of language and culture in shaping identity, preserving heritage, and understanding communities.
