Sulu State University Participates in the 2026 Career Development Support Program Forum

Sulu State University (SuluSU), represented by Ms. Fhadzra Aisha P. Sabdani, RPm, Unit Head of the Admission and Testing Office, participated in the 2026 Career Development Support Program (CDSP) Forum on October 19–20, 2026 at the Convention Hall, LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City.

Anchored on the theme “Advancing Career Pathways: Strengthening Partnerships and Convergence for Inclusive and Responsive Career Development,” the two-day forum brought together representatives from higher education institutions, government agencies, and career development stakeholders to strengthen collaborative efforts in providing accessible, relevant, and responsive career guidance and employment opportunities.

The forum featured a series of roadshows and discussions highlighting labor market information, industry skills demands, educational and professional pathways, job placement services, government career opportunities, and emerging digital careers. It also provided a platform for sharing best practices and developing collaborative strategies through the CDSP Five-Point Agenda Workplan Workshop.

SuluSU's participation underscores its continuing commitment to strengthening career development initiatives, promoting informed educational and career choices, and aligning student admission, testing, and career guidance services with evolving workforce demands.

Through this engagement, the University continues to advance meaningful partnerships that support students in navigating their academic journeys and preparing for future professional opportunities.

MOA SIGNING | SULU STATE UNIVERSITY AND HERMOSA CONSORTIUM

Sulu State University (SuluSU) and the Hermosa Consortium formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on October 19, 2026, at the SuluSU Chanel Room, Administration Building.

The signing was led by University President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, together with Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation, and Production (RICEInt) Dr. Ayesha Rema Tan, Dr. Almashien S. Lipae, President of NTP, and Asst. Prof. Adzmier S. Muhali, Dean of the School of Computer Engineering.

Representing the Hermosa Consortium were Ms. Lera Lorrene Dammang, Mr. Jobertson Bicalas, and Mr. Tim Midel.

The partnership reflects both institutions' commitment to strengthening collaboration and exploring opportunities for initiatives that support academic development, innovation, and institutional growth.

Through this agreement, SuluSU continues to advance its commitment to building strategic partnerships that contribute to its mission of delivering quality higher education and expanding opportunities for its academic community.

The Student Organization Unit, through the Office of Student Affairs and Services, proudly presents Hibla ng Mapaghabi, a continuing manifestation of our collective commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

From Selyo ng Mapagbago, which marked the beginning of our student organizations' commitment to the SDGs, to Sidlak ng Mapagsulong, which strengthened and illuminated this advocacy, we now weave these efforts together through Hibla ng Mapaghabi.

Guided by the theme “Habi ng Pag-asa, Hibla ng Paglikha, Pamana ng Paglilingkod,” this initiative symbolizes how every student organization serves as an essential thread in weaving a stronger, more inclusive, and sustainable university community.

As we begin a new chapter as Sulu State University, may every initiative we create, every partnership we strengthen, and every act of service we undertake become part of a lasting legacy for future generations.

Sapagkat sa bawat hibla ng pagkakaisa, may pag-asang nabubuo; sa bawat likha, may pagbabagong naisasakatuparan; at sa bawat paglilingkod, may pamanang naiiwan.

𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗜

Sulu State University, through the Office of Student Affairs and Services Student Organizations Unit, formally inducted the officers of the and 24 recognized student organizations during Mapaghabi: The Joint Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony, themed “Hibla ng Pag-asa. Habi ng Paglikha. Pamana ng Paglilingkod.”

Held on October 17, 2026, at the University Gymnasium, the ceremony reaffirmed the commitment of student leaders to excellence, collaboration, and meaningful service for Academic Year 2026–2027. The event also marked a significant milestone in student organization development, welcoming six newly recognized organizations into the growing university community.

A highlight of the ceremony was “Kwentong Mapaghabi,” featuring three distinguished guests of honor: Mr. Reiner Alad Jawaluddin, Mr. Benjie Pasani, and Ms. Nurana Moh. Hashim. Their stories of perseverance, achievement, and dedication to service reflected the essence of Mapaghabi, demonstrating how individual aspirations, opportunities, and contributions can be woven into a lasting legacy.

Through their inspiring journeys, the ceremony emphasized the importance of leadership beyond positions and titles, encouraging student leaders to pursue their aspirations while creating meaningful change in their respective communities.

More than a ceremonial induction, it served as a celebration of the University's growing culture of student leadership and collective responsibility. Under the leadership of University President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, OSAS continues to strengthen student engagement, organizational development, and opportunities for service.

As the newly inducted officers begin another chapter of leadership, MAPAGHABI stands as a reminder that every act of service contributes to a greater story of hope, creativity, and lasting impact—sapagkat tayo ang magpapatuloy ng habi.
