SLTCFI Joins Key Partners in Showcasing the Albay FutureSkills 2026 Initiative

The Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc. (SLTCFI), through its Smart Prototyping, Innovation, and Collaboration Yielding-Tech (SPICY) Facility, proudly hosted the innovation showcase of the Albay FutureSkills 2026 Initiative: a showcase of the "Collaborative Implementation of Skills, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Industry Development (SISID) Programs through the Albay Smart Prototyping, Innovation, and Collaboration Yielding-Tech (SPICY) Facility."

This landmark initiative brings together TESDA TESDA Bicol, DTI, DICT Region V Bicol , DOLE Bicol, the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PCCI-HRDF, APTVIA, local government units, industry stakeholders, and academic institutions in a shared commitment to developing a future-ready workforce and a thriving innovation ecosystem for Albay.

Anchored on the SISID Framework (Skills, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Industry Development), the initiative aims to:
✅ Expand access to emerging technology and future skills training
✅ Promote innovation and technology adoption
✅ Support entrepreneurship and startup development
✅ Strengthen industry-academe-government collaboration
✅ Create pathways toward employment, self-employment, and enterprise growth

The showcase of the program featured messages of support from distinguished leaders from TESDA, DTI, the Provincial Government of Albay, and partner institutions, underscoring the importance of collaboration in preparing Albayanos for the future of work.

SLTCFI remains committed to serving as a catalyst for innovation, workforce development, and inclusive economic growth through the SPICY Facility.

Personal na bumisita si TESDA Deputy Director General for Administration and Innovation na si Galo Glino III sa Southern Luzon Technological Colleges Foundation ngayong umaga, Hunyo 16, 2026, upang makipag-ugnayan sa mga iskolar, trainees, learners at iba pang stakeholders.

Kasabay nito, personal niyang sinuri ang mga umuusbong na skills initiatives ng institusyon kabilang ang cybersecurity awareness, paggamit ng drone technology para sa disaster management, artificial intelligence-enabled learning, at iba pang technology-driven workforce development programs na nakabatay sa Provincial Skills Development Plan ng Albay.

Sa mensahe ni TESDA Albay Provincial Director Mariglo Sese, sinabi nito na nagsagawa ang kanilang tanggapan ng malawakang konsultasyon sa mga industriya upang matukoy kung anong mga pagsasanay ang higit na kailangan ng mga Albayanong naghahanap ng trabaho. Aniya, mahalagang matiyak ang kalidad ng pagsasanay upang maging handa ang mga trainee para sa employment opportunities, lalo na sa mga sektor ng turismo, konstruksyon at agrikultura na may malaking pangangailangan sa manggagawa.

Nagpahayag din ng suporta si DTI Bicol Regional Director Dindo Nabol, para sa patuloy na pagtulong sa mga maliliit na negosyo na nangangailangan ng pagsasanay. Binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan upang mabawasan ang job mismatch at mapalawak ang oportunidad sa trabaho.
Samantala, ipinahayag ni Albay Governor Noel Rosal ang kanyang buong suporta sa mga programa at serbisyong isinusulong ng TESDA. Ayon sa kanya, bagama’t maraming job fair ang isinasagawa, nananatiling hamon ang hindi pagtutugma ng mga bakanteng trabaho sa kakayahan at kwalipikasyon ng mga aplikante.

Positibo naman ang naging impresyon ni DDG Glino sa mga programang kanyang nasaksihan. Ayon sa kanya, humigit-kumulang 80 porsiyento ng mga nagtapos sa TESDA training programs sa buong bansa ang nagkakaroon ng trabaho dahil sa pagtitiyak ng ahensya na ang bawat iskolar ay nakatatanggap ng de-kalidad na pagsasanay na direktang nakaugnay sa pangangailangan ng industriya at empleyo.

SLTCFI High School Department Holds Joint Student and Parent General Orientation!

On June 10, 2026, the Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation, Inc. (SLTCFI) High School Department officially kicked off the new academic year with its Student’s and Parent’s General Orientation held at LCC event center 1. The event was a successful gathering aimed at aligning goals and building a strong partnership between the school, the students, and their parents. The program commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome address from our Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Belen D. Azul, who officially ushered the students and parents into the SLTCFI family and emphasized the institution's commitment to holistic academic excellence.

To ensure everyone is guided accordingly, key representatives from different departments provided valuable overviews of their respective institutional policies and services. The Vice President for Administration (VPA), Ma'am Honelet S. Bertis, JD, thoroughly discussed the School Policies, ensuring that everyone is aligned on campus safety, code of conduct, and the administrative standards that keep our learning environment orderly. Ma'am Jeffelyn Quinto from the Accounting Department followed with essential updates regarding payment schedules, and financial transactions for a smooth and transparent experience. Representing the Marketing Department, Mr. Johnsen Gonzales highlighted the school's branding, community engagement initiatives, and upcoming events that show how SLTCFI continues to grow its presence. Ms. Gwyneth Kim Mandrigal from the Guidance Office discussed the student support services, mental health initiatives, and student welfare programs designed to guide our learners emotionally and socially. Additionally, Ma'am Ligaya Maravilla and Ma'am Marilyn B. Perez comprehensively discussed the Library Services, introducing the wide array of learning resources, reading materials, digital tools, and standard library guidelines available to foster excellent study habits and research skills among our students.

Strengthening Partnerships for Educational Excellence! 🏫✨

Yesterday, June 10, 2026, Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation, Inc. (SLTCFI) successfully hosted the DepEd Central Office (CO) Monitoring Team for an essential evaluation of the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar and the Strengthened Senior High School (SSHS) Curriculum. This high-level monitoring visit was conducted to ensure that the institution's facilities, resources, and academic strategies are perfectly aligned with DepEd's latest educational advancements.

The monitoring team was composed of prominent education leaders, including Central Office Directors Marilette Almayda and Atty. Veron Requejo, who expertly facilitated the Focus Group Discussion (FGD). They were accompanied by two supervisors from the Regional Office and the DepEd Supervisors from the SDO Legazpi Division, headed by CID Chief Ma’am Portia P. Encisa. To welcome the esteemed delegation and represent the school's readiness, the SLTCFI administrative team was fully present, led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Belen D. Azul, Vice President for Administration Honelet S. Bertis, JD., Registrar Zhara M. Alcantara, and School Principal Jed P. Del Ayre, alongside five dedicated Junior and Senior High School faculty members.

The productive day-long activity kicked off with a comprehensive walk-around of the school campus to inspect the learning facilities, followed by a warm "kumustahan" and brief drop-by sessions in several classrooms to check on the well-being of the students and teachers. The visit concluded with an insightful and strategic Focus Group Discussion (FGD) focused on the practical implementation of both the three-term calendar and the SSHS curriculum. Through collaborative visits like this, SLTCFI remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a top-tier, compliant, and holistic educational experience for every learner. The Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation, Inc. (SLTCFI) successfully held its Opening of School Year 2026–2027 on June 8, 2026, at the SLTCFI Grounds, marking the beginning of another promising academic year.

The event warmly welcomed new, transferee, and returning students as they embarked on a new chapter of learning, growth, and achievement. Students were formally welcomed by the school leadership through their inspiring messages, led by President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosemarie Quinto-Rey, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Belen D. Azul, PhD, Vice President for Administration (VPA) Honelet S. Bertis, JD., and the High School Principal Jed Del Ayre.

Their words of encouragement emphasized the importance of excellence, resilience, unity, and active participation in the academic community. Guided by the theme, “One Community, One Vision: Embracing Growth Through the Three-Term System,” the program served as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the sense of belonging among students and reaffirm SLTCFI's commitment to providing quality education and holistic development.
