Sixty-five years ago,
a dream was born beneath the Philippine sky—
not merely a name,
not merely letters carved upon a crest,
but a promise whispered into time:
Alpha Phi Epsilon.
From the first hands that carried its flame,
to the brothers and sisters who carry it today,
the years have changed,
the faces have changed,
the world has changed—
but the spirit remains.
For a fraternity is not built by walls,
nor measured by the years upon a calendar.
It is built by the hearts
that refuse to abandon one another
when the road becomes difficult.
And a sisterhood is not simply a circle of names;
it is the quiet strength beside you,
the hand that lifts you when you fall,
the voice that reminds you:
“You do not walk alone.”
Alpha Phi Epsilon—
your legacy is not only behind you.
It walks beside you.
It stands in every brother
who chooses honor over pride,
in every sister
who chooses courage over fear,
in every member
who turns knowledge into service,
and in every generation
that chooses to leave something better
than what it inherited.
1961 was the beginning.
But the story did not end there.
Every generation became another chapter.
Every sacrifice became another verse.
Every act of service became another line
written into the eternal poetry of the brotherhood
and sisterhood.
So tonight,
let the old remember with gratitude,
let the young dream without fear,
and let those who come after us
find a path illuminated by the footsteps
we leave behind.
Because the greatest legacy
is not the name we carry—
it is the life we live
that makes the name worthy of being carried.
“Alpha for Leadership,
the courage to lead with honor;
Phi for Service,
the heart to serve with purpose;
and Epsilon for Unity,
the strength to stand as one!
—three sacred ideals,
one unbreakable bond,
one legacy that lives forever.”
And when another generation asks,
“What did they leave behind?”
Let the answer be:
They left Brotherhood.
They left Sisterhood.
They left Leadership.
They left Service.
They left Unity.
They left a legacy.
And if tomorrow should ever forget our names,
let it never forget our deeds.
For names may fade from stone,
portraits may disappear from walls,
and voices may eventually become echoes—
but a legacy built upon love and service
can outlive the people who created it.
So raise your heads,
brothers and sisters of Alpha Phi Epsilon.
The flame is still burning.
Sixty-five years behind us.
An eternity ahead of us.
And as long as one Epsilonian
still believes in the bond,
the flame will never fade.
