CEAT traces its roots to the former Department of Agricultural Engineering created in 1912 as one of the departments of the UP College of Agriculture. In 1976, the Department of Agricultural Engineering was elevated to the Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (INSAET). On February 24, 1983, the college was finally established upon the approval of the UP Board of Regents in its 958t

h meeting. Since its institution, CEAT has become one of the best engineering colleges producing quality graduates and continuing to develop and generate engineering technologies and knowledge products in service of the Filipino people.

We remember Dr. William Tanzo for his dedication to education, research, and service, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family.

The UPLB Department of Civil Engineering mourns the passing of Dr. William T. Tanzo.

Dr. Tanzo served as a faculty member of the department from 1997 to 2004 and as Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering from 2004 to 2005. During his years of service, he mentored numerous students who have since become well-established professionals in the field. He was instrumental in advancing research in seismic engineering and structural health monitoring, leaving a lasting impact on both the department and the wider engineering community.

We remember Dr. Tanzo for his dedication to education, research, and service, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family.
