Earlier today, the Sustainability Department - Health and Safety Unit successfully conducted a Bomb Awareness Seminar titled Project ABKD (Awareness of Bomb That Kills Lives and Destroys Properties) in collaboration with the Provincial EOD and Canine Unit (PECU) Quezon through PLT Ferdinand Rios. The activity brought together key university stakeholders committed to safety, resilience, and risk reduction.
The seminar was attended by members of the University Disaster and Emergency Response Team (UDERT), the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee, security personnel, Criminology first responders, and safety officers from affiliate schools. This diverse participation ensured a comprehensive and coordinated approach to emergency preparedness across all sectors of the institution.
Project ABKD aimed to raise awareness on the nature of explosive threats, including recognizing suspicious objects, understanding potential risks, and applying appropriate response protocols. Resource speakers emphasized the importance of vigilance, early detection, and proper reporting procedures to prevent harm and minimize damage to lives and properties.
Through this initiative, the University continues to uphold its commitment to safety, sustainability, and proactive risk management.
