The Southern Leyte State University โ Maasin City Campus (SLSUโMCC) proudly commemorated Public Administration Day 2025, carrying the empowering theme โAnchored in Integrity, Shaping Future Public Leaders Committed to Good Governance.โ The celebration, held at the SLSUโMCC grounds, brought together enthusiastic Public Administration students and their dedicated faculty members for a day dedicated to leadership, service, and community empowerment.
The festivities began with the official attendance at 7:30 AM, followed by the formal opening of the program at 8:00 AM. The prayer, national anthem, and SLSU Hymn were solemnly presented through an audiovisual production, setting a respectful tone for the event. The program hosts, Mr. Leo Costillas and Mr. Archier Lloyd Mendoza, guided the flow of activities with energy and poise.
Campus Director Dr. Frederick C. Aniga delivered an inspiring welcome message, encouraging students to cultivate integrity, excellence, and dedication as future leaders in public service.
A series of academic competitions energized the celebration, including Pinoy Henyo and extemporaneous speaking, which provided students the opportunity to demonstrate their critical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork. Team-building activities also formed part of the program, offering moments of enjoyment, camaraderie, and temporary rest from academic pressuresโstrengthening the unity and morale of the PA community.
Extending the spirit of service beyond the campus, the department conducted a feeding program at REYMS in Barangay Tagnipa. This initiative, led by selected CPAS officers, embodied the core values of public administrationโcompassion, generosity, and transformative service. A seminar was likewise held, featuring esteemed speaker Mr. Raul A. Inocando, CHRMO/OICโCDRRMO, who delivered a compelling lecture on โLeadership in Public Administration.โ His insights on responsibility, ethical governance, and proactive community involvement profoundly resonated with the audience.
Culminating the celebration was the much-awaited PA Got Talent, with categories such as Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet, Interpretative Dance, and Pop Dance. This segment showcased the remarkable creativity and hidden abilities of PA students, proving that leadership flourishes not only in academics but also in artistic expression. The audience was also treated to special performances, including a soulful song by Mr. Jamel Goyo and a powerful spoken poetry piece by Mr. Brylle John Non.
To conclude the event, Ms. Maria Risa Jean Pasculado, Department Head, delivered heartfelt closing remarks. She acknowledged that despite several unforeseen challenges that initially hindered the programโs ex*****on, the unwavering dedication of the organizers and participants made the celebration possible. Her message highlighted resilience, cooperation, and the shared commitment to upholding the values of the Public Administration Department.
The Public Administration Day 2025 stands as a resounding success, embodying SLSUโMCCโs dedication to molding future public leaders who are principled, service-driven, and steadfast in promoting good governance.
