For centuries, the Filipino people lived under foreign colonial rule. Our ancestors witnessed their lands, rights, voices, and freedoms challenged by those who sought to control our nation. But oppression did not erase the Filipino spirit.
โ๐ต๐ญ From the writings that awakened the consciousness of a people to the revolutionary movement that called Filipinos to rise, heroes such as Josรฉ Rizal, Andrรฉs Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo, and countless other men and women became symbols of a nation determined to shape its own destiny.
But history is not only the story of the famous names we remember.
It is also the story of the farmers, workers, revolutionaries, mothers, fathers, soldiers, writers, and ordinary Filipinos who sacrificed their lives, their families, and their futures for the hope of a free Philippines. ๐ฉธ๐ฏ๏ธ

Today, we remember the known and unknown heroes whose courage helped carry the Filipino people through the long struggle for freedom.
May we never allow their sacrifices to become forgotten words in a history book.
