Some chapters of history are difficult to revisit, but they are chapters that must not be forgotten.

On September 21, 1972, Proclamation No. 1081 was dated and signed, placing the Philippines under Martial Law. Two days later, the declaration was publicly announced by President Ferdinand E. Marcos. The period that followed became one of the defining chapters in Philippine history, shaping the nation’s politics, institutions, communities, and the lives of many Filipinos.

History is more than a collection of dates. It is made up of people, experiences, voices, and lessons that continue to shape the present.

As students and members of a generation entrusted with tomorrow, may we continue to 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡, 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭.

Because remembering is not about staying in the past, it is about understanding it.
