From your SACP family, thank you very much, Prof. Patrick Frias!

During Prof. Frias' term as Program Chair of Benilde Music Production from 2019 to 2026, he spearheaded the program's accreditation and quality assurance initiatives, securing its PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) Level I Accreditation Status in 2025, ushered in its ASEAN University Network (AUN) Certification for 2024-2029, and deputized the program for the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) in 2022.

Among many others, Prof. Frias led the Music Production Program's comprehensive revision of its curriculum, introducing specialized tracks in Composition, Audio, and Performance, which is a first-of-its-kind in the Philippine music curriculum landscape. He also facilitated internationalization initiatives through their projects, activities, and competitions, as well as local and international field trips. Thank you to our Sir Rick! 🥳🤩

We warmly welcome Prof. Ryan Flores, incoming Chair of the Music Production Program! Prof. Flores brings his 21 years of experience in the music and multimedia industries. His expertise cuts across the courses he teaches in the program, including piano and ensemble, foundational ear training, technical MIDI programming, and film scoring. A certified Apple Teacher and Google Workspace Educator, Sir Ryan has also served as OJT Coordinator. He holds a master's degree in Music in Piano Pedagogy. Congratulations and welcome, Sir Ryan! 🥰

We wrap up the school year with a week filled with performances from our incredible talents from our various group and individual classes, showcasing the lessons they have acquired over the course of the term, and expressed through their performances and creative works. Featured also are the performances from two of our ETEEAP students wrapping up the Performance Cluster of their program, and the inaugural showcase program of the Benilde Producers and Composers Collective.

[Professor Spotlight] The official 2026 ASEAN anthem, "The ASEAN Way"—composed by Kittikhun Sodprasert and Sampow Tri-udom with lyrics by Payom Valaiphatchra—comes to life in a fresh arrangement by Professor Von De Guzman. This vibrant rendition is performed by the world-renowned Young Voices of the Philippines, under the direction of Dr. Theresa Roldan.

8.3.26 The “Musikapihan” closing event for the 2025‑2026 academic year was reimagined as a relaxed lounge‑music showcase. The event opened with performances by Industrial Design Chair Prof. Mangussad and faculty member Prof. Barnuevo.

A standout moment featured Music Production Prof. De Dios playing alongside his father— Prof. Edgardo De Dios a former music professor at St. Isabel College—and later on joined by MP alumni Ms. Bantuan, Prof. Mercado, and his former student Mr. Isiaah Perez. The program concluded with sets from Music Production Chair, Prof. Frias and voice faculty Prof. Casille. Coffee and pastries were served by the program, adding to the mellow, chill‑vibe atmosphere.
