In May 2011, the Student Publications Office (SPO) was formally renamed as the Student Media Office (SMO).

This celebrated an evolution of the office, embarking on a multimedia approach to campus journalism and storytelling. The office then grew from its house of the four official student publications – Green & White, The LaSallian, Malate Literary Folio, and Ang Pahayagang Plaridel – to welcome the two official broadcast organizations of DLSU – Green Giant FM and La Salle TV (now Archers Network) – under its wing.

Our warmest thanks to DLSU Green Media Group for the production of this 2012 AVP, telling the rich history of Lasallian student media and capturing a snapshot of this landmark in the legacy of the Student Media Office.

BATTLE OF THE MEDIAS ⛹️📸

The DLSU Student Media Office held its sportsfest, Lakan Cup 2026, at the 7th floor of the Enrique M. Razon Sports Center last April 15 to 16, with the opening program held in Yuchengco Grounds.

Proudly representing their respective groups, each team brought together their indispensable players who showcased their competitiveness and camaraderie. Participants displayed their sportsmanship across all 11 games, culminating with the highly anticipated dance competition at the Yuchengco Grounds.

In the final tally, Archers Network emerged as the overall champion, followed by The LaSallian, then Green Giant FM. Commendable performances were also noted from Ang Pahayagang Plaridel, Green & White, and Malate Literary Folio rounding out a closely contested and spirited Lakan Cup.

READ: DLSU Student Media Council's official statement on the 40th year of EDSA People Power Revolution.

The EDSA People Power Revolution remains relevant not just decades after 1986, but across generations. Its value does not diminish with time; rather, it sharpens as new forms of disinformation, historical distortion, and authoritarian nostalgia emerge.

Today, we commemorate that power belongs to the people, and the people deserve officials who honor the responsibility of power. We, the Student Media Council, will never cease to uphold honor and accountability through principled and truthful storytelling that resists the abuse of power.

BASAHIN: Opisyal na pahayag ng DLSU Student Media Council tungkol sa ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution.

Mananatiling buhay at makabuluhan ang EDSA People Power Revolution sa bagong henerasyon, dekada matapos ang 1986. Hindi humihina ang diwa nito sa paglipas ng panahon. Sa halip, patuloy lamang na pinagtitibay ang kamalayan ng mga Pilipino sa lumalaganap na disimpormasyon, binabaluktot na kasaysayan, at pagbabalik ng parehong bangungot mula sa mga nasa kapangyarihan.

Ginugunita ngayong araw na hawak ng mamamayan ang kapangyarihan at ang karapatang pamunuan ng mga opsiyal na kinikilala ang kanilang tungkulin sa bansa. Patuloy na maninindigan ang Student Media Council sa pagtataguyod ng dangal at pananagutan tungo sa makatuwiran at tapat na pamamahayag na nagpupumiglas sa pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan.
