Across borders and beyond time zones, today is a shared moment of recognition.

Labor Day reminds us that the strength of our global community lies in the people who show up every day to build, care, innovate, and serve. From healthcare workers and frontliners to every individual contributing to the fabric of society, each role holds meaning, each effort creates impact.

In a world shaped by collaboration and connection, labor becomes a universal languageβ€”one that speaks of resilience, dignity, and collective progress.

Today, we stand in solidarity with workers everywhere. We honor their contributions, recognize their sacrifices, and celebrate the spirit that unites us all.

Happy Labor Day to the global workforce.

🌐 Learning Beyond Borders: Benchmarking Academic Libraries in Thailand

Last April 1–2, 2026, Mr. Nathan Lorenzo D. Lagamayo, RL, a librarian of FEU-NRMF proudly conducted an international benchmarking visit to Khon Kaen University Library, Chulalongkorn University Office of Academic Resources (Central Library), and Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, focusing on academic library services that support higher education, research, and student-centered learning.

The visit explored how these institutions design and maximize their library spaces, how learning environments encourage collaboration and independent study, and how digital resources, databases, systems, and access models are thoughtfully integrated into academic settings.

The libraries of these universities showcased inspiring strategies and innovative practices that highlight the vital role of libraries in shaping meaningful learning experiences. Many of these practices offer promising opportunities that may be adapted and thoughtfully implemented at FEU–Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, reinforcing its commitment to growth, innovation, and global excellence.

Beyond benchmarking, the visit opened avenues for potential partnerships in research, knowledge exchange, and academic collaboration. This initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education by strengthening learning resources and environments, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering international cooperation and institutional linkages.

This benchmarking experience was not only an opportunity to learn from international peers but also a meaningful reminder that collaboration and shared knowledge across borders continue to enrich academic communities and elevate institutional practices.

Strengthening Global Partnerships: NCR IRO Officers Oath Taking and Strategic Planning 2026

The NCR International Relations Officers continue to move forward in strengthening global engagement and collaboration across institutions.

On March 26, 2026, the NCR IRO Officers gathered at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila for the Oath Taking Ceremony and 1st Strategic Planning Meeting, centered on the theme Strengthening Global Partnerships through Leadership and Collaboration.

The event brought together IRO leaders across the region to set the direction for internationalization efforts in 2026. The session opened with a comprehensive context setting, highlighting the NCR Internationalization Agenda and its key priorities, along with clearly defined objectives and expected outputs.

Participants then engaged in identity setting and the development of a shared vision and mission, laying the foundation for a unified approach to internationalization. This was followed by framing the direction of NCR IRO initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Commission on Higher Education A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Strategic Framework.

A collaborative group work session allowed institutions to propose strategic activities for 2026, which were later presented and synthesized into a collective roadmap. The meeting concluded with a discussion of the way forward, reinforcing commitment to sustained collaboration and impactful global partnerships.

The event was led by Dr. Jennifer S. Florida, Head of External Affairs and current NCR IRO President, and was graced by Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE, Director III, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Director IV, whose presence further emphasized the importance of internationalization in advancing higher education.

This milestone reflects NCR’s collective commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education, Partnerships for the Goals, and Reduced Inequalities, by fostering inclusive, globally connected, and future-ready academic communities.
