Young Economists' Convention The official page of the Young Economists' Convention under the DLSU Economics Organization

Dedicated to enrich economics education, the YEC allows Economics students from all over the country and the region to interact with one another and to associate with the wide range of professionals from the government, business, academe, and civil society. The YEC aims to present relevant economic issues and relate it to theories discussed in classrooms. This project is created with the ultimate

goal of endorsing awareness of prevalent economic issues and initiating vital critical thinking among the youth, which will enable them to put in practical usage what they have learned as they bring to fruition the idea of becoming the future leaders and policymakers of the Philippines.

For decades, development in the Philippines has been concentrated in major cities, leaving many rural areas struggling to access the same basic opportunities in education, healthcare, transport, and connectivity. As more Filipinos migrate in search of better livelihoods, families are separated, and entire communities are left behind.
