The PUP College of Education Student Council stands with the call of the UP College of Education Student Council and fellow education student organizations to put student welfare at the center of the conversation on school violence.
What happened should never have happened. We mourn the lives lost, and we extend our deepest sympathy to the students, families, teachers, and school workers who are carrying the weight of this tragedy.
When tragedy strikes, it is convenient to point fingers, such as blaming teachers for not doing enough, parents for not doing enough, young people for what they consume online, or social media and online games for what happens in the real world. But pointing to the easiest target does not make the problem easier to solve.

As future teachers, we cannot remain silent when educators are blamed for problems they were never given enough support to address, or when students are discussed without ever being asked what they need.
A school cannot be called safe simply because there are guards at its gates. It is safe when
We cannot bring back the lives lost. But we can refuse to let their deaths become another excuse for shallow solutions.
Because if we want safer schools, then the answer cannot simply be more blame.
