โœ… A graduate of a TLE/TVL-related program, preferably ICT-related.
โœ… A Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT)
โœ… A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in TLE/TVL, ICT, or allied fields from a reputable university
โœ… At least two (2) years of teaching experience in basic or tertiary education
โœ… Has experience in research and extension activities.
โœ… Holder of Trainers' Methodology 1
โœ… Holder of a National Certificate of any ICT/Industrial Arts-related qualification.

The Department of Home Economics, College of Education of the Mindanao State University Main Campus successfully conducted a consultative meeting and site visit on April 30, 2026, in Barangay Palao, Marantao, Lanao del Sur, in line with its extension project titled โ€œKapamagogopa 3.0: Sustaining Communities Through Organic Farming, Nutrition, and Family Wellness.โ€

The activity marked a significant step in strengthening community collaboration and ensuring the effective implementation of the project. It commenced with an orientation where the project team introduced themselves and presented the initiativeโ€™s objectives, scope, and expected outcomes.

During the visit, the team conducted an ocular inspection of the proposed site for organic farming activities. They also assessed the designated venue for future engagements and discussed key provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), ensuring alignment and shared responsibility between the university and the local government unit.

The team was warmly welcomed by Barangay Kagawad, ๐—›๐—ผ๐—ป. ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐——. ๐—›. ๐—ข๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ and their Brgy. The consultative meeting was also attended by members of the RASFI Volunteers, who expressed their commitment to actively participating in the projectโ€™s implementation.

This initiative supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG No. 1 - No Poverty, SDG No. 2 - Zero Hunger, SDG No. 3 - Good Health and Well-being, SDG No. 5 - Gender Equality, SDG No. 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG No. 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production. Through organic farming, nutrition education, and family wellness programs, the project aims to empower communities, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable and inclusive development.

The CHE Exhibit was successfully displayed on April 6 - April 10, 2026 at CED Lobby, Old Building, as part of the Department of Home Economicsโ€™ celebration of World Home Economics Day 2026 with the theme, โ€œYou Are What You Eat: Feeding the Future.โ€

The exhibit showcases different outputs of BTLEd and BTVTEd students, served as a platform to highlight their creativity, skills, and knowledge in the field of home economics.

Moreover, this initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly on 2: Zero Hunger, 3: Good Health and Well-being, and 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

To conclude, the CHE Exhibit Display serve as testament to the student's competence and the departmentโ€™s dedication in promoting sustainable practices and meaningful contributions to society through home economics.

A celebration of intellect, creativity, and purposeful expression took center stage as students showcased their writing prowess in a compelling display of ideas and perspectives. The Department of Home Economics (DHE), in collaboration with the Circle of Home Economists (CHE), successfully conducted the Essay Writing Competition on April 11, 2026, at the College of Education Old Building, Mindanao State University, Main Campus, Marawi City. The event was held as part of CHE Pakaradian in celebration of World Home Economics Day, anchored on the theme, โ€œYou are what you eat: Feeding the Future.โ€

The program commenced with an orientation on the guidelines, mechanics, and criteria for judging, preparing participants for an engaging and intellectually stimulating activity. Anchored on the guide question, โ€œIn what ways can aspiring teachers of Home Economics embody the principle โ€˜You are what you eatโ€™ in guiding the next generation toward informed, healthful, and sustainable living?โ€ participants were challenged to critically reflect on their roles as future educators and advocates of responsible consumption.

Through their essays, students demonstrated depth of insight, originality, and the ability to articulate meaningful perspectives on nutrition, sustainability, and education. Each composition reflected not only academic competence but also a strong sense of responsibility in shaping future generations through informed food choices and sustainable practices. The competition served as a platform for participants to refine their writing skills while engaging with relevant and timely issues in home economics.

Entries were evaluated based on content and relevance to the theme, organization and coherence, grammar and language use, and creativity and originality. The panel of judges, Hannah B. Calib, Jamera L. Sarip, and Joross Michael D. Bongcarawan, carefully reviewed each entry, bringing their expertise in writing, journalism, and academic excellence to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation.

After careful deliberation, the following participants were declared winners:

Blossom Battle: A Creative Twist on the Master Chef Competition

On April 10, 2026 at B106 Old Building our Home Economics department successfully held a fun and creative Master Chef Competition featuring a unique main ingredient: banana blossom. The event brought together four groups of participants, each challenged to create their own special dish using this ingredient.
Each group showed their creativity by adding their own twist, turning the banana blossom into different delicious meals. From savory dishes to innovative recipes, the competition highlighted not only cooking skills but also teamwork and originality.

The CHE Pakaradian 2026, in celebration of World Home Economics Day with the theme
โ€œYou are what you eat: Feeding the Future,โ€ culminated in a vibrant and exciting Film
Trailer Parody Competition on April 6, 2026 held at the Social Hall, CED New Building. In
line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly promoting
Quality Education, the event highlighted not only creativity but also awareness of real-life
experiences and values that shape studentsโ€™ futures. Centered on School Life
Experience, each Hogwarts House transformed popular films into creative and relatable
parodies, capturing classroom struggles, friendships, and the true essence of student life
in a fun and memorable way.

โ€ข Emerging as the Champion, the House of Gryffindor claimed victory with an
impressive score of 95% through their parody titled โ€œMy Teacher.โ€ Their entry stood
out for its humor, creativity, and strong portrayal of classroom experiences that
resonated with everyone.

โ€ข Taking the 1st Runner-Up spot, the House of Slytherin captivated the audience
with their parody โ€œAng Mutya ng Section E,โ€ delivering a fun and engaging take on
school-based storytelling.

โ€ข The 2nd Runner-Up, House of Ravenclaw, impressed with their adaptation of
โ€œDiary ng Pangit,โ€ showcasing a creative interpretation of student life and personal
growth.

โ€ข Lastly, the 3rd Runner-Up, House of Hufflepuff, brought laughter and nostalgia
with their parody โ€œABNKKBSNPLAko,โ€ highlighting the relatable journey of being
a student.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their creativity, teamwork,
and dedication in making this event a success. Special thanks as well to the panel of
judges, Maโ€™am Maria Theresa M. Yataza, Sir Jezreel R. Martinez, and Maโ€™am Noralie B.
Tejano, as well as to the organizers, the entire CHE community, and with the support of
our College Dean, Rohanifa Mama-Maruhombsar, and our Department Chairperson,
Maโ€™am Noralie B. Tejano in Home Economics, for making this competition memorable
and meaningful.

Precision met creativity as students of the Department of Home Economics brought life and elegance to ordinary tables during the Table Skirting Competition held on April 10, 2026, at the lobby of the College of Education Old Building. Organized by the Circle of Home Economists (CHE), the event served as a platform for students to demonstrate their technical expertise and artistic flair in table presentation.

From the very start, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation as participants prepared to transform simple materials into refined and visually striking designs. Guided by the competition mechanics and criteria, each group worked with focus and coordination, showcasing not only their skills in skirting techniques but also their ability to conceptualize cohesive and appealing table arrangements.

The activity was made possible through the unwavering support of Dean Prof. Rohanifa T. Mama-Marohombsaar, PhD, and Department Chairperson Noralie B. Tejano, MAHE, whose leadership continues to strengthen student engagement in hands-on learning experiences. Behind the success of the event were the dedicated organizers led by Head Committee Eva Marie R. Magdasal, together with Co-Committee Albert T. Gabisay, who ensured that every detail of the competition was carefully executed.

A panel of judges composed of Sir Khalid R. Sangcopan, Ms. Nor-Fatmah Jenan M. Ibrahim, and Hon. Abdul Majid I. Noor evaluated each entry with keen attention to detail. Performances were assessed based on creativity, ex*****on of design, cleanliness, and overall visual impact, ensuring a fair and thorough selection of winners.

Participants, representing their respective Hogwarts houses, delivered impressive presentations that reflected both discipline and imagination. Each table setup told a story through its folds, symmetry, and style. After careful deliberation, the winners were announced:

The Department of Home Economics (DHE), in collaboration with the Circle of Home Economists (CHE), successfully conducted the Bazaar Entrepreneurship Competition on April 10, 2026, at the College of Education Old Building, MSUโ€“Main Campus, Marawi City. The event was held as part of the CHE Pakaradian in celebration of World Home Economics Day, anchored on the theme, โ€œYou are what you eat: Feeding the Future.โ€

The program commenced with an orientation on the mechanics and criteria of the competition, preparing participants for an engaging and dynamic showcase. Each Hogwarts House set up its own bazaar booth, presenting unique food products and business concepts. Through their displays, participants demonstrated entrepreneurial competencies in product development, marketing strategies, and customer interaction, while integrating the significance of the theme into their offerings.

The booths reflected a wide range of creative ideas and purposeful concepts, emphasizing not only profitability but also the value of nutritious, sustainable, and forward-thinking food choices. The competition provided students with an opportunity to experience practical business applications, fostering teamwork, innovation, and critical thinking skills.

Entries were evaluated based on creativity and originality, cohesive presentation, marketing strategies for products and services, cleanliness and orderliness, relevance to the theme, fluency and communication skills, eco-friendly innovation, and overall entrepreneurial ex*****on.
