KAPAMAGOGOPA 3.0 | Session 3: "Nutrition at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan"
The Department of Home Economics, College of Education, Mindanao State UniversityโMain Campus successfully conducted Session 3 of its extension project, KAPAMAGOGOPA 3.0: Sustaining Communities Through Organic Farming, Nutrition, and Family Wellness, reaffirming its commitment to empowering communities through nutrition education, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living.
The program began with the registration of participants, followed by an Invocation led by Mr. Al-Raffy P. Pondiong, President of the Circle of Home Economists, and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the BARMM Hymn. The event was hosted by Ms. Farhanah M. Abdullah, BTVTEd Home Economics III student, who served as the Master of Ceremony.
The highlight of the activity was Session 3: "Nutrition at Kalikasan, Ating Pahalagahan," delivered by Prof. Noralie B. Tejano, MAHE, Chairperson of the Department of Home Economics. The lecture emphasized the importance of proper nutrition, environmental conservation, and sustainable food practices in promoting healthier individuals, families, and communities.
Following the lecture, an Open Forum was conducted, allowing participants, guests, and officials to actively engage with the resource speaker through meaningful discussions, questions, and the exchange of valuable insights regarding nutrition and environmental sustainability.
The program concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Prof. Nico A. Caballes, LPT, Faculty Member of the Department of Home Economics, who encouraged everyone to apply the knowledge they gained and become advocates of healthy living, environmental responsibility, and sustainable community development.
This successful extension activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Home Economics Faculty, led by Prof. Khalid R. Sangcopan, CHE Adviser and Project Leader, together with Prof. Nor-Fatmah Jenan M. Ibrahim, and the dedicated Circle of Home Economists (CHE) Officers, along with the FSM103 students, who served as the organizing committee.
Together, let us continue cultivating healthier communities, protecting our environment, and promoting sustainable development through education, service, and collective action.
