It is located in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The institution specializes in technical-vocational education, arts, trades, and basic education, serving as a key provider of skills-oriented programs in the region.

๐—ข๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„
MSU-LNCAT operates as an integrated campus within the broader MSU system, focusing on practical education in arts and trades alongside junior high school, senior high school (with academic and TVL tracks), and select collegiate programs. It sits at a high elevation (around 3,700 feet above sea level) in the Marawi area, emphasizing technical skills, cultural heritage, civic responsibility, and community development in a region rich with Meranao and diverse Mindanao traditions. As part of the MSU mandate, it contributes to national integration, manpower development, and educational access for local communities, particularly in the Bangsamoro area.

The roots of MSU-LNCAT trace back to the early 20th century as Lanao High School, which later became Lanao Provincial High School. It evolved into a focus on arts and trades, eventually becoming the Lanao National College of Arts and Trades (LNCAT), a CHED-supervised institution. On January 10, 2001, LNCAT was integrated into the MSU system along with two other institutions (Lanao del Norte Agricultural College and Maigo School of Arts and Trades). This occurred through CHED Order No. 27 S. 2000 and Republic Act No. 8760, which facilitated the integration of CHED-supervised schools into chartered state universities. A memorandum of agreement was signed between MSU and the relevant regional director.

This integration aligned with MSU's broader mission to expand access to quality education across Mindanao.

Post-integration, MSU-LNCAT transitioned from a standalone vocational school into a component of the MSU system. It maintained its emphasis on technical and vocational training while expanding basic education offerings. The campus has faced regional challenges, including impacts from conflicts in Marawi, but has continued operations and community engagement. Recent activities include graduations, visits from MSU system leadership, and participation in system-wide events like athletic competitions.

The campus is in Saduc, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. Its elevated position offers scenic views and reflects the highland setting of the area. Facilities support vocational training, basic education, and administrative functions. As part of the MSU system, it benefits from system-level resources while maintaining a local focus.

โ€ŽMSU-LNCAT EXPRESSES GRATITUDE AND SOLIDARITY
โ€Ž : NO CAMPUS SHALL BE LEFT BEHIND ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›
โ€Ž
โ€ŽMSU-LNCAT extends its support to MSU-General Santos following the recent earthquake damages that affected the campus. โ€ŽOur Superintendent, Hja. Cairany D. Dia- Gandamra, RN, JD, DPA(CAR) attended the 47th Commencement Ceremony of MSU-GenSan and provided financial assistance to aid in the recovery efforts. โ€ŽThis gesture mirrors the kindness shown to us in October 2025, when MSU-General Santos Chancellor, Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, personally visited MSU-LNCAT to extend financial aid during the flooding.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽWe also extend our heartfelt thanks to MSU-Sulu, Chancellor Dr. Nagder Abdurahman and VCAF Dr. Abuzamier Asanji, JD, for their support and assistance to MSU-LNCAT during the same time.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs emphasized by our MSU System President, Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, "No Campus Shall Be Left Behind." โ€ŽAlhamdulillah! This is the true essence of , where we rise together through every challenge.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽMay ALLAH continue to bless our leaders and the entire MSU System!

โ€ŽOff the Campus |MSU-LNCAT Joins Celebration of MSU President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago's First Year of Leadership
โ€Ž
โ€Žโ€ŽIn connection with the celebration of "Acta Non Verba: A Year of Leadership in Action," in commemoration of the first year of leadership of Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, as the 9th President of the Mindanao State University System, our Campus Head/Superintendent Hja. Cairany D. Dia-Gandamra, RN, JD, DPA(CAR), and our Administration and Finance Director Putri Samsia D. Dimasira, and others in the institution, have participated in the celebration.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThis event took place on July 6, 2026, at MSU-International Convention Center, with the presence of officials and personnel from all over the MSU System in commemoration of the first year of President Tago's presidency in the university.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIndeed, this event serves as an appropriate commemoration of the concept behind its theme, in that only actions and not words are what truly make up good leadership. MSU-LNCAT, like the rest of the MSU System, acknowledges the achievements accomplished by President Tago in his one-year presidency in the university.
