BEFORE THE BREAK
It was a meaningful afternoon of faith, compassion, and proactive action as the National Christian Life College – College of Education conducted the ED-Talk Series: “Before the Break: Christian Way of Dealing with Potential School Violence” on September 19, 2026, at the NCLC Function Hall, with speaker, Sir John Lou S. Lucenario
Anchored on the words of Jesus in John 13:34, “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another,” the discussion emphasized that preventing violence begins with something as powerful and fundamental as loving one another.
Education students were reminded of their role to look beyond visible behavior, listen without immediately judging, connect those who are struggling to appropriate support, and care with genuine compassion and continued presence.
It was a reminder that Christian love is not merely spoken, it is seen in how we notice, listen, understand, reach out, and respond.
Sometimes, preventing a crisis begins with simply noticing someone who is struggling. Sometimes, a listening ear becomes a safe space. Sometimes, one caring person can make someone feel that they are not alone.
Before the break, let love intervene. Before violence happens, let compassion respond. Before a heart breaks, let us be there.
