Veterinarians for the Countryside Reunite at the National Conference

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) veterinarians for the countryside came together once again at the 31st Philippine Animal Hospital Association, Inc with the theme Enhancing Clinical Competence through Lifelong Learning in Companion Animal Care, held on August 20–22, 2026, at the SM Convention Center, Pasay City.

More than a gathering of veterinary professionals, the conference served as an opportunity for CLSU’s veterinary community to reconnect, exchange knowledge, and continue growing together in the pursuit of excellence in companion animal care.

From faculty to students and alumni, the CLSU College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) continues to foster a community committed to lifelong learning, professional development, and service to the countryside.

CVSM Completes 2026 Internal Audit for DVM and MVSt Programs

The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) has successfully completed its 2026 Internal Quality Audit under the Academic Affairs Program, reinforcing the CLSU’s commitment to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System implementation.

The audit focused on the College’s two degree programs: the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and the Master of Science in Veterinary Science (MVSt).

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | Congratulations to Dr. Noraine P. Medina on the publication of their invention by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

Their invention entitled " AHairpin-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Assay". This invention discloses a hairpin-mediated isothermal amplification (HAMP) assay for nucleic acid detection. The method provides a rapid, efficient, and highly specific alternative to conventional PCR, demonstrating accurate detection without false positives or false negatives. It is optimized for resource-limited settings and applicable to a broad range of diagnostic targets.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | Congratulations to Dr. Marvin Bryan S. Salinas of the Department of Basic Veterinary Sciences on his latest co-authored study published in Veterinary Integrative Sciences, a Scopus-indexed international journal.

Their research entitled “Technological advances in chicken semen cryopreservation: Impacts on s***m quality, freezability and fertility” examines the factors affecting the quality, fertility, and freezability of cryopreserved chicken semen, including the roles of proteins, antioxidants, cryoprotectants, freezing techniques, breed-specific and environmental variations, emerging technologies, and ethical considerations, while highlighting the need for standardized and customized strategies to improve semen preservation for commercial production and genetic conservation.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | Congratulations to Dr. Armando G. Agustin of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences on his latest co-authored study published in CLSU International Journal of Science and Technology.

Their research, entitled “Determination of Oxytetracycline Residues in Table Eggs from the Local Market of San Jose City: Implications for Local Farm Compliance and Food Safety Screening” aims to detect oxytetracycline residues in table eggs sold in selected market stalls of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, using the disc diffusion method with Escherichia coli as the indicator organism.
