The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) proudly powers the CLSU's ascent to 83rd in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026.

Among CLSU's 10 top-ranked entries, two CVSM's innovative projects demonstrate our commitment to biotech breakthroughs and community health.

PROPRE BOOST: A Scalable University–Industry Biotech Collaboration Turning Agricultural Waste into High-Value Commercial Probiotics ranked 14th in the Industrial Application category, showcasing CVSM's leadership in sustainable biotech by converting farm waste into market-ready probiotics through vital university-industry partnerships led by Dr. Ronalie B. Rafael.

Student-Led One-Health Culture: Rural Anti-Rabies Vaccination for Community Protection ranked 55th in the Culture/Values category, highlighting CVSM students' hands-on drive to foster One Health principles and safeguard rural communities against rabies implemented by CVSM student organizations.

LOOK | CLSU Ascends to 83rd in WURI 2026 Global Rankings; 10 Innovative Projects Secure Top Spots

Soaring to new heights in the global academic landscape, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) ascended to the 83rd spot in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. This jump from its 118th rank last year marks the university’s highest placement since the ranking's inception.

The 2026 results highlight CLSU’s consistency in delivering impactful solutions, with 10 distinct entries securing positions across diverse categories.

Leading the university’s impressive haul is the "Solar-Powered University" initiative, which ranked 2nd globally for Infrastructure and Technology. Close behind is the "Guardians of the Grain" biosensor initiative, which earned 3rd place in Representative Research Projects.

Below are the other ranked CLSU entries and their respective categories:

• Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program: From Research to Revenue through University-Based Technology Business Incubation and SEEDS OF ENTERPRISE: Transforming University Rice Innovation into Sustainable Agribusiness which ranked 4th in the University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects category
• Project RICE: Responding to the Impacts of Crises and Emergencies which ranked 13th in the Crisis Management category
• PROPRE BOOST: A Scalable University–Industry Biotech Collaboration Turning Agricultural Waste into High-Value Commercial Probiotics which ranked 14th in the Industrial Application category
• Futures Thinking for Sustainable Communities: Integrating ESG-Based Strategies and SDG-Aligned Innovations for Resilience and Adaptation which ranked 16th in the SDG- and ESG-Based Responses to Global Challenges category

CVSM Veterinary Teaching Hospital Director Dr. Armando G. Agustin guided the experimental research phase of the study conducted by Nueva Ecija High School (NEHS) students, Sophia Sabrina Pagulayan and Robyn Margarette De Jesus, which earned international recognition at the Science Castle International Research Convention 2026 in Singapore.

Maria and Ms. Michela Nicole Rivera, delivered an outstanding performance in the PCCP Canine and Feline Practice Quiz Challenge, helping CLSU clinch two podium finishes in the national competition held at SMX Aura, Taguig.

The event, organized by the Philippine College of Canine Practitioners (PCCP), is designed to strengthen clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills in small animal (canine and feline) medicine and surgery by integrating core theoretical concepts with real‑world clinical practice.

Warmest birthday greetings to Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University.

Ang Central Luzon State University ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng mga Manggagawa. Saludo kami sa lakas, dangal, at tibay ng bawat Pilipinong manggagawa na patuloy na nagsisikap para sa mas maunlad na bukas.

Alay namin ang pagkilala at pasasalamat:

• Para sa ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda na siyang tunay na nagpapakain sa bansa. Kayo ang pundasyon ng ating seguridad sa pagkain at ng buhay ng ating lokal na ekonomiya.

• Para sa mga drayber na hindi tumitigil sa pag-ikot ng gulong upang ihatid ang publiko sa kani-kanilang mga destinasyon.

• Para sa mga vendors at blue-collar workers, na siyang nagpapatunay na walang maliit na trabaho para sa taong may malaking pangarap.

• Para sa mga OFW na may matatag na loob na lisanin ang sariling bayan upang maglingkod sa ibang lupain. Ang inyong mga sakripisyo at remittances ang nagsisilbing isa sa mga pangunahing haligi ng ating ekonomiya, at ang inyong pangungulila ay katumbas ng masaganang kinabukasan para sa inyong mga pamilya.

• Para sa mga CLSU Employees, ang inyong husay sa pagtuturo, pananaliksik, at serbisyo ang nagpapanatili sa liwanag at ningning ng ating pamantasan.

Faculty from the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) and the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) of Central Luzon State University facilitated the Gender Equity, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) workshop held during the World Veterinary Association Congress (WVAC) 2026 at the Tokyo International Forum from April 21–24, 2026.
