As research and knowledge production continue to evolve in the digital age, the responsibility to uphold academic integrity becomes ever more crucial for students, educators, researchers, and professionals alike.

We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 11, Issue 1 of Gibon Ateneo de Naga University Journal.

The issue features two peer-reviewed articles that respectively engage critically with education and women's economic engagement, and five research articles by the first recipients of the Bikol Studies Writing Grant, showcasing original multidisciplinary works in the Bikol region. Complementing these are five creative pieces that explore literary form and imagination, offering readers space for reflection, resonance, and aesthetic appreciation.

Welcome to Episode 4: Collecting Data with Accuracy and Integrity.

In research, the strength of every conclusion rests on the integrity of the data behind it. Collecting information is not merely a technical task but a responsibility that demands accuracy, honesty, and respect for ethical boundaries.

In this episode, Dr. Marlyn Lee-Tejada shares practical guidance on how researchers can ensure that their data gathering processes remain credible and responsible. Responding to questions from students, the discussion highlights the ethical considerations that must guide data collection, from respecting participants to safeguarding the authenticity of information.

The conversation also explores how technology can both support and complicate data gathering, how teamwork and coordination influence the accuracy of group research, and the warning signs of potential data manipulation or dishonesty. Dr. Tejada also addresses the common challenge faced by researchers which is handling missing or incomplete data, and how to respond to it responsibly without compromising research integrity.
