IECEP Central Luzon Collaboration:

The "RA 9292 Advocacy: Webinar and Focus Group Discussion on Electronic Permit Application, Implementation, and Regulation in the Office of Building Officials (OBO) under the Revised IRR of NBCP" was held on October 19, 2024, as a full-day event on the Zoom platform. The event was a collaborative effort among the IECEP Central Luzon Chapters, led by Gov. Rico Jay Laxa of IECEP Pampanga Chapter, and supported by Gov. Kenneth Brian Landicho of IECEP Bataan, Gov. Christian Enoval of IECEP Bulacan, Gov. Harry Bert G. Rolle of IECEP Nueva Ecija, Gov. Mark Syrel Cruz of IECEP Tarlac, and Gov. Bobby Reyes, Jr. of IECEP Zambales.

The program commenced with opening remarks from the Guest of Honor, Engr. Donald Lapiguera, a member of the Board of Directors of IECEP National.

The morning session featured Engr. Jason B. David, PECE, from Clark Development Corporation, who served as the resource speaker. He provided a comprehensive overview of the electronic permit application process and the regulatory framework surrounding the issuance of building permits, in accordance with the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP), and the process in Clark.

In the afternoon, Engr. Justine Albert S. Pecson, PECE, from the Local Government Unit of San Fernando City, Pampanga, took over as the speaker He discussed the significance of RA 9292, focusing on its role in regulating the practice of electronics engineering, and its implications on the issuance of building permits, where the Electronics Permit serves as one of the key ancillary documents for the Office of Building Officials (OBO) in various Local Government Units (LGUs).

The success of the event was largely due to the active participation of attendees who engaged with the resource speakers during the question-and-answer sessions. Their thoughtful inquiries and enthusiastic participation contributed to the productive discussions, making the webinar an impactful learning experience for all involved.

IECEP BATAZAN Cluster Elimination Competition:

The IECEP BaTaZaN Cluster held its elimination round on October 12, 2024, at Wesleyan University-Philippines (WUP), with the event organized by IECEP Nueva Ecija and chaired by Gov. Harry Bert Rolle
The competition aimed to select representatives from each chapter for the national competition at the IECEP Student Summit, scheduled for November 14-15, 2024, at UP Bahay Alumni. Due to the limited number of colleges and universities in the IECEP BaTaZaN Cluster (Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija Chapters), the chapters decided to form a cluster to meet the participant requirements for the national competition, the participants are schools offering ECE Program on BaTaZaN Cluster.
The event was graced by Dr. Wilfredo Ramos, Vice President for Academic Affairs of WUP, and Dr. Ryan John L. De Lara, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Technology and Vice Governor for External Affairs of IECEP Nueva Ecija Chapter, who delivered the guest speech and opening remarks, respectively.
The following participants emerged as champions in their respective categories:

Math Olympiad – Tarlac State University
Technological Design Pitching – Wesleyan University-Philippines
Elite Electronics Quiz Show – Wesleyan University-Philippines
TechTok – Tarlac State University

Digital Poster – Tarlac State University

The success of the event was made possible through the support of the participants, coaches, and chapter governors: Gov. Kenneth Brian Landicho of IECEP Bataan, Gov. Mark Syrel Cruz of IECEP Tarlac, and Gov. Bobby Reyes, Jr. of IECEP Zambales. Special thanks go to Smart EDGE ECE Review Specialist, represented by its owner, Engr. Ronne Martin Yu, who provided the competition questionnaires. Appreciation is also extended to the judges: Prof. Salvador Collado, Jr., Engr. Ralph Lery Guerrero, Engr. Ace Vergel Rabanes, Engr. Denver Magtibay, Engr. Jacob Mojares, and Engr. Greson Lansa. The event was hosted by Engr. Barbara Michelle Lucila Vidad and supported by the IECEP Nueva Ecija Chapter Officers: Engr. Ryan John L. De Lara, Engr. Leo Ramos, and Engr. Robert Miranda, along with the IECEP - Nueva Ecija Student Chapter, led by their president Mark Angelo Ramos.

IECEP BATAZAN: PROFESSIONAL UPSKILLING ECE & PECE FORUM with PRC BECE

The IECEP BaTaZaN Cluster (Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija Chapters) collaborated on the webinar "IECEP BaTaZaN: Professional Upskilling ECE & PECE Forum," held on September 28, 2024. The event was spearheaded by the officers of IECEP BaTaZaN, led by Gov. Kenneth Brian Landicho of IECEP Bataan, Gov. Mark Syrel Cruz of IECEP Tarlac, Gov. Bobby Reyes, Jr. of IECEP Zambales, and Gov. Harry Bert Rolle of IECEP Nueva Ecija, along with their adviser, Engr. Michelle Lucila Barbara Vidad.

Dr. Lory Liza Bulay-og, the National President of IECEP, was the guest speaker and emphasized the importance of upgrading Electronics Engineers (ECE) to Professional Electronics Engineers (PECE), in accordance with RA 9292.

The webinar focused on how Electronics Engineers can upgrade to Professional Electronics Engineers. The forum featured resource speakers from various fields of Electronics Engineering, including academe, oil refinery, aviation, and telecommunications. The speakers included Domer A. Rubiano, PECE (IECEP Bataan); Christopher V. Maglaque, PECE (IECEP Bataan); Michelle Lucila Barbara F. Vidad, PECE (IECEP Tarlac); Jerico D. Campos, PECE (IECEP Zambales); and Leo M. Ramos, PECE (IECEP Nueva Ecija). The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Electronics Engineering was also represented by Dr. Alnar Detalla, Chairman, along with members Engr. Herminio Orbe and Engr. Enrico Claro Delmoro.

The event was a success, with participants actively engaging in discussions about the upgrading process. The speakers, along with the PRC Board of Electronics Engineering, shared their insights and experiences, providing valuable guidance to the attendees.
