Empowering Farmers through Agro-Enterprise Clustering
To strengthen local agricultural practices, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) College of Agriculture successfully hosted a two-day Training on Agro-Enterprise Clustering Approach (AECA) and Farm Record Management. Spearheaded by the Agri-NURTURES Extension Project, the event took place on September 14–15, 2026, at the College of Agriculture Conference Hall.
The initiative brought together 25 farmers from Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija, alongside 20 College of Agriculture students. Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions designed to enhance their foundational knowledge in cluster formation, product selection, supply assessment, and effective farm record keeping.
Led by Mr. Ju-Mark Pagaduan and supported by College Dean Dr. Jayson J. Juan, the organizing team featured a panel of seasoned experts from the Department of Agri-Management. Asst. Prof. James Paul Labindao, Dr. Mari Joy M. Buenavista, Asst. Prof. Erwin Valiente, and Mr. Louis Ramos delivered valuable insights, highlighting how collective marketing and rigorous farm accounting can boost both farm efficiency and profitability.
Broadening the scope of the training, Dr. Oliver Celestino from the Department of Animal Science also led a specialized discussion on free-range chicken production and management.
Through Project Agri-NURTURES, CLSU continues to bridge the gap between academic research, extension programs, and local farming communities—driving the development of unified, sustainable, and profitable rice-based agro-enterprises.
