The CNC Router is one of the major equipment components awarded to Aldersgate College Inc. under the ₱1.2 million SSF Project grant approved on July 19, 2025. The remaining equipment is scheduled for delivery between February and March 2026, with full installation targeted for completion by the end of March 2026 in preparation for the formal turnover ceremony.

The SSF assistance is provided not as a direct cash grant but in the form of equipment and service installations intended to operationalize the innovation hub.

The InnoKomunidad hub is envisioned to serve students, startups, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and community organizations by providing access to modern design and fabrication tools. Planned services include digital prototyping, multimedia production, digital learning support, marketing assistance, and incubation for emerging entrepreneurs.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of DTI’s national SSF program, which aims to enhance MSME productivity and competitiveness through shared, technology-enabled facilities.

𝙄𝙀𝙀𝙀 𝙃𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙀𝙈 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝙋𝙐𝘽𝙇𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 | Strengthening campus safety through technology

A safe and secure learning environment is fundamental to academic excellence. As educational institutions increasingly rely on technology to protect their communities, understanding how security systems are implemented and perceived becomes essential.

The article “Exploring the Implementation and Effectiveness of CCTV Surveillance Systems in Promoting Safety and Security in a Private School in Nueva Vizcaya” by Dheryl Gay C. Tullioc, David A. Eusebio, Renielyn C. Taguiam, John Moroni J. Guhic, Carl Jay R. Roldan, and Nephi Lea J. Guhic examines the role of CCTV surveillance in enhancing campus safety at Aldersgate College Inc. Presented at the 2024 IEEE HNICEM, this study provides an evidence-based assessment of both implementation and effectiveness.

Survey responses from 528 participants—including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and security personnel—reveal that CCTV systems are widely implemented and perceived as “much effective” in promoting safety and security. The findings further indicate that the level of implementation significantly influences effectiveness, with notable differences observed when respondents are grouped by years of affiliation with the institution.

The study underscores the importance of continuous evaluation, strategic system enhancement, and stakeholder awareness to maximize the impact of surveillance technologies in educational settings. The recommendations drawn from the findings offer practical guidance for institutions seeking to strengthen campus security through responsible and effective technology use.

𝙄𝙀𝙀𝙀 𝙃𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙀𝙈 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝙋𝙐𝘽𝙇𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 | Turning awareness into sustainable action in tourism

Sustainability in tourism begins with awareness—but its real impact is measured by action. As the tourism industry continues to play a vital role in the Philippine economy, understanding how environmental knowledge translates into practice has become increasingly important.

The article “Effects of Awareness Levels on the Adoption of Environmental Initiatives Within Department of Tourism-Accredited Establishments in Nueva Vizcaya” by Angel Jeanlyn G. Acedo, Apple M. Acosta, Mariane Leika A. Morales, Perlita C. Tiburcio, and Rowena Venessa C. Gayagoy offers valuable insights into this relationship. Presented at the 2024 IEEE HNICEM, the study examines how awareness influences the adoption of environmental initiatives among DOT-accredited hotels and resorts in Nueva Vizcaya.

Findings reveal generally high levels of awareness and adoption across water conservation, energy conservation, and waste management initiatives. Water conservation shows the strongest positive relationship between awareness and adoption, followed by energy conservation, while waste management—though still positively correlated—emerges as an area needing more targeted interventions.

The study highlights the importance of continuous education, stakeholder collaboration, and systematic monitoring to strengthen sustainable practices in the tourism sector. By reinforcing awareness through structured programs and incentives, DOT-accredited establishments can further contribute to long-term environmental conservation and responsible tourism.

𝙄𝙀𝙀𝙀 𝙃𝙉𝙄𝘾𝙀𝙈 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝙋𝙐𝘽𝙇𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 | When service quality becomes the heart of customer loyalty

In the hospitality sector, every interaction—from a warm greeting to timely service—shapes the guest experience. For local bed and breakfast establishments, understanding what truly drives customers to return is essential for sustaining competitiveness and growth.

The article “Effects of Quality Service Dimensions on Customer Retention in Department of Tourism-Accredited Three-Star Bed and Breakfast Establishments in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya” by Anna Lorraine G. Gines, Sayren Shakira H. Mondala, April Joy M. Palitayan, Perlita C. Tiburcio, and Rowena Venessa C. Gayagoy sheds light on this vital relationship. Presented at the 2024 IEEE HNICEM Conference, this study applies the SERVQUAL model to examine how tangibility, reliability, and responsiveness influence customer retention.

Survey data from 84 customers reveal that establishments perform strongly in tangibility and responsiveness—areas where guest expectations are consistently met or surpassed. However, the reliability dimension presents a notable gap, particularly in the simple yet meaningful act of serving water upon seating. Despite this, overall satisfaction correlates strongly with customer loyalty, with many guests expressing intent to return and recommend these establishments.

The study emphasizes the importance of targeted staff training, especially in service promptness, knowledgeability, and safety protocols. Regular monitoring of customer feedback is also recommended to maintain service excellence and foster long-term customer loyalty.

This research highlights how enhancing everyday service interactions can lead to sustainable customer retention—a crucial insight for the continuous improvement of DOT-accredited hospitality businesses.
