FTAP's VP - Internal Affairs, Mr. John Brex Briones, VP - External Affairs, Ms. Christine Hope D. Pagsuguiron (not in picture), and Executive Secretary , Zarah Liezl Torrecampo, attended the 26th National Youth Congress on Drug Abuse Prevention Education at Aklan Tourism and Training Center, Kalibo, Aklan on May 21-24, 2018.

The said event, sponsored by the National Youth Commission , US Embassy, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and LGU-Aklan through the effort of Hon Phillip Yerro Kimpo was attended by 150+ selected youth leaders all over the Philippines.

Some of the FTAP and YRM officers smiled after the camera. Smiles for a successful General assembly. New projects were discussed that will help strengthen the youth and the society. The project categories that were discussed are:

*Strenghtening of Agriculture
*Journalism and Literature
*Responsible Use of Social Media
*Fight against Depression and Su***de among the Youth
*Environment
*Entrepreneurship
*Health

Looking forward for a successful 2018! Let us continue the hurdle for the youth and society.

With the recent developments in Aklan regarding accidents, We call the attention of the local government to address the situation;
A. Review ordinances regarding motorcycle driving etc.
B. Implement the Drunk Driving Act or Republic Act 10586
C. Let DPWH review all the road details and push with identification of accident prone areas;
D. Road lights and signages must be checked or placed in these areas.
E. Information dissemination about road safety not only to drivers license applicants but also to students.

Hon. Phillip Yerro Kimpo is a multi-awarded writer and national youth leader. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman and the Philippine Science High School. In 2012, he was named the Most Outstanding Youth Volunteer of Metro Manila, and a National Youth Parliamentarian. He is the author of three books. He was the first Aklanon editor-in-chief of ABS-CBN Choose Philippines. In 2015, he resigned from his work in Manila to fulfill a dream of serving his hometown. He is now a Sangguniang Bayan member of Kalibo, where he chairs the committees on tourism and business. In 2016, he was named by ABS-CBN Lifestyle as one of the "Ten Young Politicians to Watch Out For."

We accept any of the following items:
1. Notebooks
2. Padpapers
3. Crayons
4. Pencils
5. Plastic envelopes
6. Brown envelopes
7. Bond papers
8. Folders
9. Used books for the Library ni Meriam
Etc.
