A Growing Success!π±πΎ
The BS Agriculture students proudly celebrate the success of the Urban Gardening and Backyard Farming Workshop held on March 30, 2026, with the inspiring theme: βLead Like the Babaylans: Empowering Women Through Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership.β
Participants actively engaged in learning lettuce gardening, focusing on proper planting, care, and sustainable production in urban spaces. The workshop also highlighted the importance of organic inputs through hands-on discussions on natural fertilizers such as Indigenous Microorganisms (IMO), Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ), Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ), Oriental Herbal Nutrients (OHN), and Calcium Phosphate (CalPhos).
This meaningful event cultivated not only plants but also knowledge, confidence, and leadership among participants. Through shared learning and practical experiences, we empowered individuals, especially women to become advocates of sustainable agriculture and community development.
Together, we planted the seeds of empowerment, nurtured skills, and harvested success! πΏπ
