PSU BEARCATS SWEEP THE PODIUM! 🏆

Palawan State University (PSU) delivered a remarkable performance at the Provincial Elimination of the 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) held on September 24, 2026, in Puerto Princesa City, securing all three podium finishes.

Charles Noel L. Castro, a BS Biology major in Medical Biology, emerged as the Provincial Champion, while BS Petroleum Engineering students Zedrick Shane D. Manzul and Einoz Russel P. Gabo placed first and second runners-up, respectively. The PSU delegation competed under the guidance of faculty coach Prof. Jerico Padrones.

The Philippine Statistics Quiz, spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority, is an annual competition that promotes statistical literacy and challenges students in statistics, analytical thinking, and data interpretation.

Following their impressive provincial finish, PSU’s top winners will advance to the Regional Championships, representing the University and the Province of Palawan. Congratulations to our Bearcats for bringing pride and excellence to PalSU! 🧡

TES & TDP GRANTEES, SOMETHING GOOD IS COMING! 🧡

Good news, PalSU students! The Office of Student Affairs and Services – Institutional Student Programs and Services (OSAS–ISPS) is pleased to announce that the release of TES and TDP educational assistance is now in process for qualified student beneficiaries.

The ongoing release covers grantees under TES Batch 1, TES Batch 1.1, TES Batch 2, TDP One-Time Grant, and TDP Batch 3. If you belong to any of these batches, we encourage you to stay updated and regularly check the official OSAS–ISPS channels for verified announcements and further instructions.

We know you’ve been waiting, PalSU! While the specific release date cannot yet be announced, rest assured that the necessary processes for the release are already underway. Please remain patient and keep your notifications on for the latest updates.

Palawan State University (PalSU) joined the Handog ng Pangulo program on September 14, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol of Palawan, highlighting the University's continuing role in bringing educational assistance and student-centered services closer to its learners.

A key part of PalSU's participation was the ceremonial distribution of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grants to 50 student beneficiaries. The activity provided an avenue for student recipients to receive their educational assistance as part of the University's coordinated participation in the provincial undertaking.

Beyond the distribution of grants, PalSU was tasked to integrate CHED-UniFAST services into the activity by providing information and assistance on student financial assistance programs, particularly through Project PEPA (Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-ahon).

The University's participation also extended to the establishment of a College/University Fair at the Provincial Capitol, designed to provide career counseling, academic and admission guidance, information on academic programs, and other education-related services to participants.

The event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of various PalSU offices and personnel. Under Special Order No. 564, Series of 2026, the University constituted an ad hoc committee to prepare for and support the conduct of Handog ng Pangulo, with responsibilities covering CHED-UniFAST services, the ceremonial distribution of TES/TDP grants, logistical and transportation requirements, meals, and the processing of the scholarship grant payroll for the 50 student beneficiaries.

For the 50 student beneficiaries, the activity was more than a ceremonial gathering—it marked the actual delivery of educational assistance intended to help them continue their studies. Through its participation in Handog ng Pangulo, PalSU continues to connect students with government-supported educational opportunities while strengthening coordination among the University, CHED-UniFAST, and partner institutions in the province.

OATH-TAKING CEREMONY OF THE NEW STUDENT LEADERS | A new chapter of student leadership begins at Palawan State University 🧡

Today, September 10, 2026, the newly elected officers of the University Student Government (USG) and the College Student Governments (CSGs) formally took their oath of office, marking the beginning of their commitment to serve the PSU studentry with integrity, responsibility, and genuine dedication.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by University President, Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, with the presence of OSAS—Student Development Services Unit Head, Dr. Yvette Kristine A. Alisuag.

As they take on their respective responsibilities, may our newly elected student leaders uphold the trust entrusted to them, amplify the voices of their fellow students, and lead with honor, excellence, and service.

REMINDER ON PROPER DRESS CODE

In light of the heightened security alert being observed at Palawan State University, we would like to reiterate the importance of observing the University's prescribed dress code.

For the past two days, we have received and noted several dress code violations within the campus. In this regard, all students are strongly encouraged to revisit and review the University Student Handbook, particularly the provisions on the proper and appropriate dress code, to ensure compliance and avoid further violations.

Please also be reminded that tomorrow, Wednesday, remains a free day from wearing the prescribed school uniform. Students may therefore wear civilian attire; however, the University's prescribed dress code must still be observed at all times.

The free day from wearing the school uniform does not mean that students are exempted from the University's standards on proper and decent attire. Everyone is expected to dress appropriately and in accordance with the provisions of the University Student Handbook.

We also continue to remind everyone to remain mindful of the memorandum issued by the Office of the University President in connection with the heightened security alert. Your cooperation and compliance with University policies are essential in maintaining a safe, orderly, and secure campus environment.

Please be guided accordingly and let us all do our part in keeping our campus safe.
