Fostering open communication and stakeholder engagement, Northwest Samar State University President Atty. Lorelie F. Tangaran, D.M. is currently leading the rescheduled VOICES @ NwSSU: The Presidentโ€™s Listening Tour at the NwSSUโ€“San Jorge Campus, bringing together students, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel for a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives.

Demonstrating its commitment to strengthening records management practices, the Records Office of Northwest Samar State Universityโ€“San Jorge Campus successfully conducted an Orientation on Records Disposition Administration on June 10, 2026, bringing together campus personnel and selected Administrative Officers from the Department of Education (DepEd) San Jorge District for a day of learning, collaboration, and capacity building.

Resource speaker Mr. Jhonley Joseph L. Item, National Archives of the Phiippines Records Management Analyst II, facilitated discussions on Records Disposition Administration, the Records Disposition Program, and the implementation and application of Records Disposition Schedules (RDS) and General Records Disposition Schedules (GRDS). The orientation also featured workshops and practical exercises that reinforced the concepts discussed and provided participants with hands-on learning opportunities.

The event was marked by active participation from attendees, who engaged in discussions, raised relevant questions, and shared experiences that enriched the learning process. The supplementary workshops further enhanced participantsโ€™ understanding of records management principles and their application in office operations.

The successful conduct of the orientation reflects the commitment of the NWSSU-SJC Records Office to promoting efficient records management practices and strengthening institutional compliance, accountability, and service delivery across offices and partner agencies.
