𝗥𝗔𝗔𝗧𝗜 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆

A demonstration of encounter challenged ROTC cadets to apply tactical skills, quick decision-making, and teamwork under simulated field conditions during the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) at Romblon State University.

Led by RAATI Chairman Colonel Virgilio Hamos Jr. together with the Assistant Division Commander for Reserve Force Development (ADC for RFD), the activity tested the cadets' ability to remain composed, disciplined, and mission-focused while responding to evolving scenarios, reinforcing the importance of readiness and leadership in the field.

𝐑𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐀𝐀𝐓𝐈, 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐌𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐀 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟗𝟔.𝟓𝟔% 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Romblon State University (RSU) San Agustin Campus ROTC Unit successfully conducted its first-ever Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (𝐑𝐀𝐀𝐓𝐈) for 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 on 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the RSU San Agustin Campus Parade Ground in Cabolutan, San Agustin, Romblon. The unit emerged as the top-performing institution in the MIMAROPA Region under the supervision of the 1705th Community Defense Center (CDC), 17th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG).

The program formally commenced with the Arrival Honors for the RAATI Chairman, COL Virgilio C Hamos Jr., GSC (INF) PA, followed by the Opening Ceremony. The ceremony began with a Christian prayer led by SGT Rey G Faderanga, PA (RES), and was followed by the welcome remarks delivered by P2LT Edgar V Andalecio, PA (RES), NSTP Director.

An inspiring message was delivered by LTC Jonathan M Escopalao (INF) PA, Director of the 1705th CDC, 17th RCDG, emphasizing the importance of discipline, integrity, and leadership among cadets. This was followed by the introduction of the RAATI Chairman and the RAATI Team, then a message COL Hamos, who underscored the critical role of the inspection in maintaining ROTC standards and ensuring operational readiness. A key highlight of the opening program was the formal turnover of command and control of the cadet formation to the RAATI Chairman, symbolizing the official start of the inspection.

The activity then proceeded to the performance evaluation phase, during which the corps of cadets, cadets and cadettes demonstrated their competencies through both Field Tests and Administrative Inspection. The evaluation covered the Ceremonial Parade, which earned a score of 97/100; Battalion Rank Inspection, 49/50; Close Order Drill, 48/50; and Raid and Ambush Scenarios, 98/100. These results showcased the cadets’ discipline, coordination, and tactical proficiency.

The Military Stakes further assessed the cadets’ knowledge and skills in map reading (94.3/100), assembly, disassembly, and familiarization of firearm parts (100/100), first aid and basic life support (96.4/100), and a comprehensive written examination (137.5/150).

In addition, a general administrative inspection was conducted to evaluate the unit’s general facilities (67/70), charts (70/70), records and reports (43.5/44), correspondence, regulations, and directives (9.8/11), unit briefing (28/28), compliance with IPSO (14/14), and ROTC advocacy campaigns (16/16), resulting in a total score of 195.3/200 points for the Administrative Inspection.

One of the most anticipated moments of the ceremony was the Announcement of Results. Based on the comprehensive evaluation covering all major areas—including parade performance, inspections, tactical exercises, and academic examinations—the RSU San Agustin Campus ROTC Unit garnered a grand total of 965.6 /1000, earning an outstanding overall rating of (96.56%). This remarkable achievement reflects the unit’s exceptional performance, unwavering dedication, and steadfast commitment to excellence.

Following the thorough evaluation, the program transitioned into the Closing Ceremony. This began with the consolidation and reorganization of cadets, followed by the formal Declaration of Termination of Inspection by the RAATI Chairman. The turnover of unit colors from the RAATI Chairman back to the Commandant symbolized the return of authority and responsibility to the unit leadership.

The successful conduct of the RAATI—from opening to closing—demonstrates the RSU San Agustin Campus ROTC Unit’s capability to uphold high standards of training and administration. More importantly, it serves as a benchmark and a strong foundation for continuous growth and improvement, further strengthening the cadets’ commitment to honor, patriotism, and duty.
