Libu-libong Pilipino ang naging biktima nitong panahon, at nawalan ng tinig ang TAO. This is an event celebrated on every third Saturday of September, and that happens to be today! It is the worldโ€™s largest annual volunteer effort, and its goal is to remove any marine debris and clear trash from beaches, rivers, lakes, and even underwater sites. While doing so, volunteers gather data by recording the trash they collected, in order to identify the most harmful types of pollution, helping governments and relevant industries in creating effective waste management policies.

Fun fact, in 2003, under Presidential Proclamation No. 470 in the Philippines, the third Saturday of every September is considered International Coastal Cleanup Day.

This day is a reminder that even us normal citizens can contribute to the seaโ€™s well-being and recovery, whether that may be by proper trash segregation, discipline in cleaning up trash, or even volunteering in clean-up drives.

On September 10, 2026, the Executive Committee of JPIEP-PUP convened to discuss applications with regards to the vacant position of Treasurer for the term of 2026 - 2027. After careful consideration of the intervieweeโ€™s eligibility and the interview results, the Executive Committee recognizes Ms. Ira Justin Mae B. Cabansag qualified enough to perform the duties of Treasurer, and her dedication to advancing the goals of this organization.

Therefore, by a unanimous vote, Ms. Ira Justin Mae B. Cabansag will be appointed as the new Treasurer of the Junior Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners - PUP Chapter, forthwith.
