There is a strange kind of silence in realizing that the struggle is finally ending.

No more sleepless nights staring at unfinished projects while the world outside is already asleep. No more trembling deadlines chasing your exhausted body and restless mind. No more sudden messages asking your parents for extra allowance because another requirement unexpectedly appeared. No more pretending you are not hungry just so your remaining money could survive until the next week. No more sacrificing meals, sleep, peace, and sometimes even yourself- just to make it through another semester.

And now, graduation stands quietly at the finish line.

It feels beautiful, but painful too. Because behind that diploma are years of silent battles no one truly saw. The tears hidden behind “I’m okay.” The breakdowns postponed because there was simply no time to fall apart. The countless moments you questioned whether you were still capable of surviving another semester, another exam, another burden.

And one day, you will look back and realize that the struggle you hated also shaped the strongest version of yourself.

And perhaps the saddest part of graduating is this:
you spent years trying to escape the hardship, only to realize that those difficult days became the most unforgettable chapters of your life.

The University of Antique Main Campus formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on May 19, 2026, held at Busalian Hall, UA Main Campus, Sibalom, Antique.

The MOA signing was facilitated by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) through the BS Community Development program. Representing the University were Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, OIC-University President; Dr. Catherine C. Viesca, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Alvin V. Lavaran, Program Head of BS Community Development; and Mr. Randy Puyong, Director of the UA Career and Job Placement Office. Representing DSWD Regional Office VI was Ms. Judith Barredo.

The agreement formalized the collaboration between the two institutions in the implementation of the Cash-for-Work Program under the KALAHI-CIDSS initiative, which is designed to benefit 150 deserving individuals composed of graduates and currently enrolled college students.

The Cash-for-Work Program under KALAHI-CIDSS serves as a strategic support mechanism that provides financial assistance to help defray students’ educational and living expenses, enabling them to continue their studies while assisting graduates in their transition toward permanent employment. Moreover, the program offers valuable work experience and skills training that will further equip beneficiaries to become more competitive and prepared for future employment and livelihood opportunities./ Vedija, C. The University of Antique Assessment Office conducted a two-day seminar-workshop on the development of training modules for various qualifications under National Certificate (NC) I, NC II, and NC III on May 13–14, 2026, at Busalian Hall, Sibalom, Antique.

The seminar-workshop was spearheaded by Dr. Alexis A. Conato, Head of the Assessment Unit, together with Ms. Rita Mae S. Ondrada, TM1 Trainer, who served as the resource speaker. Faculty members from the different colleges and external campuses actively participated in the activity.

The training aimed to equip faculty members with the necessary knowledge and skills in crafting competency-based syllabi and instructional modules that will be utilized by students pursuing National Certificates. Through the workshop, participants were guided in aligning course content with industry standards and TESDA competencies to strengthen the university’s technical and vocational education programs./ Vedija, C. Dr. Godelyn Gallega-Hisole was formally presented to the University of Antique community as the new University President today, May 18, 2026.

Dr. Hisole officially took her oath of office on May 13 at the Central Office of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and formally assumed the presidency, succeeding OIC President Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan and former University President Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr.

Her presentation to the UA community marks the beginning of a new chapter in the institution’s leadership and continuing pursuit of academic excellence and service.

Congratulations to the University of Antique College of Teacher Education for once again carving its name into the nation’s hall of excellence.

The March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers became another battlefield conquered by UA, producing four topnotchers and achieving the highest national passing percentage- a resounding proof that the University’s core value of Excellence is not merely spoken, but lived, nurtured, and triumphantly manifested on the national stage.

Indeed, excellence has found its home in UA, and the nation has witnessed it once more.
